How to switch doctors?
Not an RE... I have been with a Neurologist for a long time, and it's time to move on. Nothing really glaringly negative, but I'm at a point where I need someone more involved with/specializing in Multiple Sclerosis. I've chosen my new Dr.
Obviously, the new Dr will want my records. Will the new office request them, or do I request my file and bring it with me? It looks like a freakin phone book, lol. I feel so badly because we really do have a nice relationship, and everyone in the office is wonderful.
TIA for responses

Re: How to switch doctors?
You can prob fill out a records request form at your new Dr and they'll send them over to them directly.

How to switch doctors?
When switching peds once I requested a copy of dd's records and they alex me when they were ready and I picked them up. Just had to fill and sign a form. This time I'm switching again in town this time and the new dr told me I can sign a paper and they can request from the old dr. Or I can call the old dr and request paperwork and either pick it up or have it sent over. I chose the new dr to request for me.

Your new doctor's office will request your file from the old doctor. You jist have to give authorization.
