How to wear a shirt under a suit?
If you have a shirt with a wide collar, do you wear it tucked into the jacket, or completely out over the lapels? If you wear it out, do you keep the collar outside of the jacket so you see it from the back?
How about with a regular collar? Do you wear it in or out of the jacket? Is there a rule or is it a matter of preference?

Definitely in. Out over the lapels is a totally dated look in my opinion. I typically don’t wear collared shirts with my suits anyway, it looks really stuffy on me—I prefer a silk top or something similar with a nice necklace.

I see lots of women wearing other shirts under suits. But what about for an interview? Should it be a collared shirt?

yes, should be collared for an interview.
For regular meetings, etc I wear dressy tees under mine. I am SO uncomfortable with a collared shirt and a suit, I always feel like a sausage. lol

Last interviews I went on I didn't wear a collared shirt! I hope it was okay that I wore a camisole with suit jacket completely bottoned, so a little white was showing. No cleavage or anything, it was still conservative.

I do not think you have to wear collared shirts for interviews My profession is very conservative (attorney) and have always interviewed for either very large firms or very large companies and I would say I have done about 50/50 collared vs. non-collared. I have gotten every job I have interviewed for so I do not think it really matters as long as it looks professional. I actually like the look of a rounded neck - close to the clavicle with a suit.

On my interview for my current job I wore a camisole type blouse under my suit. It was May though. If it were winter I probably would have worn a collared shirt.
I always wear the collar inside.

no need for a collared shirt. Just look neat, clean and make sure your clothes don't look worn or tattered.
I guess the phone interview went well and you are interviewing in person or did you get another interview?

I tried it on with a collared shirt I bought and hated it! It was too stuffy looking. I'm running to Ann Taylor today to get a camisole type shirt. I will then be able to wear a pearl necklace and look a little more like myself.
