Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
No, I would say no kickboxing. I had some mild pain and a little bleeding. It was achy for a little while.
Good Luck tomorrow

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
I would say you will be okay for Thursday. Just give yourself a day or two with no jumping around. I kept it bandaged up because I had some sporadic bleeding. I actually had some pain for a few weeks, usually at the end of the day (pretty mild though)

It'll be okay. I am sure everyone has different levels of recovery from it. I am a baby, so hopefully it was just me

I had mild pain for a few weeks as well and was very black and blue for a few weeks too. I went home and slept most all of the day. I would wait with the kickboxing for a week. good luck.

I have had a needle biopsy as well and felt the same as the above poster. Take it easy and don't rush!
Good luck! We'll be thinking of you.

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
Not sure where you're having the biopsy, but I had a needle biopsy in my breast last year... i felt fine... my breast was a bit sore and tender for a day or two and there was some bruising. i didn't work out for a few days after. honestly, though, it's not that bad.
it was the lumptectomy that really hurt...that took much longer to heal and even a year later it still bothers me sometimes.

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
I haven't had one but my BF just did and she was out of commission for a couple days. Granted, hers resulted in a collapsed lung. But her first day was definitely achy.

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
I was OK, but I would definitely take the night off kickboxing. For me, the whole thing was very emotional. I found out then and there it wasn't malignant, and it was just such an emotional day. But hey, if your feeling up to it, and it may just what you need!

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
Also you will have to keep ice packets on it that entire day and night so you realy cannot move around too much. I even took off the next day from work because I wanted to keep the ice on it and just felt drained like the other poster said.
The place I had it done marked each biopsy site (I had two) with a titanium marker as well. I am not sure if your place does this or not, but after the the biopsies and markings were in I had to have a mammography right away so they can document where the titanium markings were. That was the first time I even had a mammography.

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
I had one and I felt fine afterwards, I just carried on with my normal life. I felt tired as you would after any emotional thing, but you could do kickboxing at your own pace.

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
Thanks ladies!!!
Wow - it ranges from hurting for weeks and needing to sleep the rest of the day to feeling completely fine!
I'm having mine at 3 tomorrow, then going to get Cailen from daycare.
There is no taking it easy or sleeping, really, until about 7-8 PM, or whenever he falls asleep. Or when DH comes home, which is around that time, so I have no choice.
Is the procedure exhausting because its emotional? Honestly, I think I'm ok - I really have talked myself out of the "what if" mode and honestly feel that this is a little bimp from my breast reduction surgery that I never noticed.... I'm more worried about the pain....
and I so don't want to miss another week of kickboxing. I know it sounds stupid and you guys probably think I'm being shallow, but it keeps me sane and it makes me feel so good after....

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
My mom said it depends on how deep they have to go for the range of pain. She's had two of them done.
You should be fine to pick up Cailen though.
Good luck!

Re: How will i feel after my needle biopsy?
Although it was emotional, I was over that part pretty fast and figured better to be safe and have it done. I think it also depends on what part of the breast they are going into. During the procedure it wasn't painful, they will numb you. I actually needed extra numbing. And yes, you will be sent for another mammo so they can document where the marker was placed. As Rachee said, you will have to go at your own pace. If you feel up to kickboxing 2 days later, then go for it. You know your body better than anyone else.
ETA: I had no problem picking Taylor up for the rest of the day and doing things with her. That might have been why I had the bleeding. Life went on normally (as normal as it is).
