how would i know if ava has an ear infection?
first of all, i am typing one handed becasuse this poor baby is miserable but finally fell asleep in my arms.
she has no fever, but i never had a fever w/ ear infections as a baby and i got them all the time. i just really think its an ear infection.

fever, pulling on ear, my doc doesn't treat them unless the babies are under 6 months and if the infection is not gone after 2 weeks. They usually run their course, make sure she is uprigh when sh sleeps, no bottles unless she is inclined, ad give her Similasin ear ache drops, they relieve the pain (along with some tylenol)

My son has an ear infection in each ear (his first one). He had a cold first, but no fever. This morning a fever started and when the ped checked his ears he said ear infections. He has not been pulling or tugging at his ears at all but last night he was MISERABLE. He slept probably 4 hrs. However, he's also got a molar coming in so it could be that too Sorry to ramble, my advice would be to go to the ped b/c not all babies show the "classic" symptoms of an ear infection.

Thanks girls. I know you can't tell me exactly what would indicate an ear infection, I guess I was just looking for quick answers to my baby girl's problem
Luyckily I have an amazing pediatrician whose emergency line is his cell phone I called and he answered and is so wonderful. He's going to go into the office early tomorrow so he can see Ava. For now, we dosed her up on some tylenol and my mom came and helped get her to sleep. Hopefully she'll get some rest. Thanks again everyone
