How would you go about matching paint?

We painted our living room 5 years ago. One wall is an "accent"wall and is a nice deep red.

Well, DS has been generous enough to smash a chair against the wall and now we have scuff marks/chips. I want to touch up a few spots but I cannot remember the name of the color. I know it was purchased at home depot and is Behr, but how do I find the name of the color?

would you know it, if you read it? You can go to the Behrs site and see their paint color names with swatches.

If its just scuffed in some areas, have you tried the magic eraser on them?

I doubt I'd remember it if I saw it.

I would go to the store get some paint chips and bring them home to see if any match.

I hate to say it but even if you find the paint color it will probably not match. Each gallon of paint can vary just a touch even if you buy them at the same point. And the paint on the wall if old and will look different. You may want to repaint the wall.

If you bring in the paint chips, many Home Depot stores can scan it in the computer! It works!
