We went when DS was 11 months and honestly, he was too young for it. He sat in his stroller the whole time. We wasn't walking yet either, so he couldn't really go into any play places either. We couldn't really go on any adult rides.

We did enjoy the trip though. Chat Icon We are waiting to go back when they are a bit older and can actually enjoy it more.

Heading there this summer with a six month old. I know she won't appreiciate it, but I think traveling there next summer when she is moving around will be even more difficult!

My parents belong to the Vacation Club, so we go once every year or every other year. Last year I didn't go b/c Maddy was only 2 months old. My husband hates Disney ( *** ?) so we probably won't go until next year , when she's 2.
We brought my neice when she was 14 months and she loved it. There are things she enjoyed in MGM ( Playhouse Disney) , plus there is so much to look at . I think you'll have a great time

DS was 3 when we took him. We want to go every few years, but since DD is almost 1, we'll probably wait a little bit until she can enjoy some of it.

Actually, I think he enjoyed SeaWorld more. He loved being "under" water, and looking at the fish from their point of view. He was very much into animals at that age. Now that he's 4, he'll enjoy Disney more than at 3 or younger I think.

dh and I love Disney as well. We were just talking about this the other day. We will probably go when our child is bigger. Maybe like 7 or 8.

My son was 10 months when we first went to Disney.
Of course, he won't remember a thing, but we were going and he came with!

We are going again next month and he will be 3, it will be a whole different trip this time around. We are going again with my SIL and BIL and niece (4) so we have no problem going on adult rides in pairs while one watches the kids.

If its not your one and only, trip of a lifetime to Disney then I say go for it.
If I knew I would never get back there and it was for the kids sole enjoyment then I'd wait til age 6 or over.

But I feel that any new experience is great for kids and babies! So nothing really holds me back Chat Icon Chat Icon

We're Disney freaks too! We went one Genevieve was 2 months old and then a week after she turned 1! She LOVED it at that age and she still wasnt really walking, so we didnt have to chase her around.

We go every November, so she will just have turned 2 and Billy will be 9 months when we go next! I cannot wait!

I just went to Disney with my family - and 5 kids under 5 yrs old. I can tell you that the only one to really appreciate it was the 5 year old. The others got some of the things - but for the most part the days were too long for them and they ended up a little cranky. They ranged from 18 months - 3 1/2. I think 5 is the perfect age!!

I'm waiting to take Julia next year, I feel she will understand it all better!

I wanted to take her last year, but it would be more of a vacation for me and my DH then for my DD.

Caiden was 20 months old the first time he went. Everyone told me he would be too young and not remember. Well, he remembered everything and still does. Since then we've been there 3 times and we're going again the end of May. Connor will be only 9 months old and honestly that's definitely to young to go there for him. We're going for my older son. You can still have a good time, you just won't really be able to go on anything with the baby. Have fun! Chat Icon

Re: How young was your DC when you brought them to Disney World?

we're going in a few weeks. they boys are 4 1/2, 3 and 9months.

The first time we went, the two oldest boys were 2 1/2 and 14months.
we had a GREAT time. we couldnt beleive they lasted even on the long days where we waited to see the fireworks. (the little one had catnaps here and there).

This time, we're even more excited because they really KNOW so many characters (plus a complete obsession with Buzz Lightyear, we're thinking he might faint at the site of the Buzz ride Chat Icon Chat Icon).

I think DIsney is Disney. Youre NEVER too young to Disney. Its a KIDS place. If youre taking them to a more adult vacation, then it might be hard.
but at the parks, even if they cant go on rides (well there are SO many that you CAN go on as a family!) between the characters, the parades, the music and all there is to see, it's worth just the seeing the expressions on their faces! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

7 months and if it wasn't a family vacation honestly we would never even consider it. We have so many days left on our hopper pass because by the time we ate breakfast it was nap time and then everyone was heading back to get ready for dinner. It was nice but not great for the age. We enjoyed the Disney cruise more. If your DD sleeps in the stroller and you don't care much about rides then I'm sure you'll have a great time.
I guess that sounds kind of negative and I don't want it to. We did have a great time and a great vacation but if it were our choice we would have waited until DD was 5 or so.
Have fun!!

Re: How young was your DC when you brought them to Disney World?

We just got back a month ago and we had a fantastic time!!
You most certainly can enjoy the adult rides... they have this thing caled Ride Share! DH and I did this. I went, he stayed with the baby, then when I got off the ride he got a fass pass and went right through. You just have to ask the person working the front of the line!!!

We are part of the Vacation Club so we plan on going down there every year for the next 50 years, so we didn't mind that Mikey won't remember anything... right now it is all for us and we had a blast as usual.

We are going next month and DS will be 8 months.

Yes he is young but it was either go there where we can do so much, like character meals, parades, walk around the parks, relax by the pool...or go to an island and pretty much lay on the beach all day....
Def more fun and more to do/see for DS at Disney.

Will he remember it..no, but as long as he has a good time at the time who cares!

I am sure we will be back plenty more times for him to remember and get to do more.

I can't wait to go!
