I am concerned about Megan and tummy time...anyone else?

Does anyone else's dc have no interest in being on their tummy? Megan is almost 4 months old and she still hates tummy time. She doesnt try to push up on her arms much and when she does, she gets so frustrated and starts screaming. She will kick her legs but get tired of it fast. She hasnt rolled from stomach to back yet and its concerning me.

She likes to sit up much more. I will hold her hands and she will pull up and not want to lay back down. She has great head control when I am holding her over my shoulder. But other than that, she just sticks her thumb in her mouth and lays on her belly during tummy time. Anyone else??

Maybe she needs more time?

DS wasn't much of a tummy time person until 5 months. Now at 6 months he is rolling over and over. He doesn't stay forever on tummy time but he likes it for like 20 mins or so. At least yours is sitting up. Mine is still not doing that.

Most of them hate it. Thats been my experience. Keep giving her even just a few minutes here and there. Try putting a boppy under her so her face doesnt end up in the blanket. Once her neck and upper back get stronger, she wont mind it as much.

DS is almost 7 months and hates being on his tummy. I don't think this kid will ever crawl. He does sit up on his own now.

my lil girl only does well on tummy time when i have her on my chest. Then she lifts up her head and looks around. If i put her on the bed she justs lays there.

Liam used to do some tummy time before daycare. I was told he does tummy time while at daycare, and he does OK if he's doing tummy time on the boppy, but just regular floor (on a blanket I mean) he just lays on his belly now. I am concerned because I want him to learn how to roll over. I have to call daycare and talk to them about letitng us know if/when he does roll over - I want to know so I can be prepared at home for it. Have you tried tummy time w/ the boppy pillow?

Same here, same concern. My DD HATES tummy time, she screams out of it. I also worry that she won't ever crawl. She can sit up on her own for a lil bit, but will eventually topple over, hah. She's almost 7m also.

I did almost no tummy time with Noah, we both thought it was boring. But he was walking at 10.5 months, crawling at 6 months, don't worry too much about it!!

brendan hated tummy time too until he was able to push up with his arms then he tolerated it better. i just kept trying to give him a few minutes here and there. now he's constantly flipping onto his belly-makes diaper changes fun! Chat Icon i wouldn't worry about it though. when you put her on her tummy try to get down on the floor with her and entertain her. maybe she will like it better. brendan also liked looking at himself in a mirror.

Honestly, they hate it at first. You have to keep trying throughout the day, and slowly, her interest in it will increase.

James didn't really like it at first. His daddy was determined to change that, so he put him on his belly a lot to get him more used to it. He likes it now. I would just keep trying, she'll eventually get there.
