I am so incredibly sad right now...
Our best friend just told us he's moving to California in May. I'm devastated. I spend more time with him than I do with my own family. He played Santa Claus for Ava for her first Christmas, and has been such a huge part of our lives for years. We have been through so much and he has been such a good friend to JT and me, and we are just so sad. I don't even think I can explain the friendship we have with him because it goes so beyond that. I know he's moving there for a better life and to hopefully find someone to spend his life with, but I am just so sad that he's not going to be here. I know it's selfish, but he'll miss Ava's first birthday and all the other little inbetween moments. He loves her so much and she is just in love with him, and I'm just really sad right now. I needed to get that out. Thanks.

My best friend who has been there through EVERYTHING is moving to hawaii at the end of May. I know EXACTLY how you feel as I dont even have children yet and I am so sad that he wont be here for my pregnancy, to see my kids born etc.
He is doing his residency there for 5 years and then he has 3 years owed to the army afterwards so it isnt even as if he will come back much
If you need to vent.. Im right there with ya, FM me any time.

I know how you feel. My best friend since childhood moved to Vegas almost 4 yeats ago. We still talk all the time and she was just in for the long weekend. I cried for about an hour after they left to go home. .
We all grew up together - myself, my friend adn her husband. I am crying now thinking about it. Hopefully we will go to Vegas in June to visit.
Its hard because we are not watching our kids grow up. I am heartbroken so I know how you feel.

Thanks, girls I am just so sad right now. I mean, talk about a good friend, when Ava was really little and I didn't know yet that she had a milk allergy and she would cry and cry and cry for hours while JT worked all night, he would come over and help me, even late at night, so that I could get some sleep.  Him and JT are off doing laundry together right now. I mean, we really just have such a close friendship, so it's going to be really hard. I know he needs to do this, though, and I don't want him to know how upset I am because I want him to feel good about his decision.

I know how you feel. My dh's best friend who is almost like a part of our family moved to London a couple of years ago for business. He is even my son's godfather so it can be especially hard sometimes. I can say it does get easier, and just think... you will get to take Ava for a visit to California and Disneyland.

I dont know what that feels like since Dh and I have no super close friends...all of ours live in Queens and we are upstate.
But on the bright side....think of the 1st time you get to bring Ava to Cali and your friend will be there when she can put her toes in the Pacific for the 1st time!!!!

I so know what you are feeling. My two best friends in the whole world moved out of state within a few years of each other. Then I started becoming really close with a girl I work with and guess what...yet another state! It sucks, but I try to look at it as I have lots of places to visit!
