I am so over her peeing in the house - we need help bad!
I cannot take it anymore.
We are getting a new rug in the living room bc she destroyed this one.
She will not go on Wee Wee Pads.
She will ONLY go if I physically carry her out to the backyard.
She has a nervous stomach and basically poops every single time we leave the house - even if it's only for 10 minutes.
I am at my wits end. I was upstairs just now. Sliding doors were open to the yard where DH was....she still peed on the damn living room floor.
WTH can I do?

I don't like Wee Wee pads because I believe that it confuses them. We trained Kasey to only go outside by making a big deal out of it when she did. When we leave the house she goes in her crate=no accidents.

I agree.
Di, we don't use Maggie's crate anymore, do you want to borrow it for a bit to see if it works?
Crate training is such a good thing b/c if she went in hte crate, and we were out, she was stuck with it, and it was contained, so she learned that lesson.
Plus, since she was in the crate, we got really good about letting her out before we left and after we came home.
She never slept in it, she sleeps with us, but she never minded being in there

Would you consider not having carpet? My guys would be killing me if I had rugs down (they love to pee on my mom's at her house ).

Re: I am so over her peeing in the house - we need help bad!
She is not sick - she has done this from day 1. She will sit at the door - and unless we physically carry her out - she won't go. The only way I can describe her is that she is a complete baby. We are making more of an effort to take her out every hour/1.5. So far it's been working today. I just wish she would TELL us when she has to go. That's what is so frustrating.
I do need a rug in my living room. We are having another baby in two months and that's the main play area in the house.
I can't crate her - because there is no way my husband would ever let me. And, to be honest - I don't have the heart for it either. I did start gating her in the hallway a few months ago - but she would get so worked up and upset, it just wasn't worth it to me.
She is just so nervous. She is the most wonderful perfect dog- except for the accidents!

Re: I am so over her peeing in the house - we need help bad!
I think she needs some tough love here. She has to be shown she is not going to get her way or be the boss of you. Be the 'pack leader' so to speak! It's my opinion that a dog should never make you do something (like picking them up) to do normal things like doing it's business.
If it was me, I would start leashing her and taking her outside on a set schedule, no picking up, no excuses. Walks instead of letting her out. Making a party of how happy you are when she pees and poops. Yes, I am that crazy lady who always says "Peeee peeee! Gooooood peeee peeee!" to my dog. I may look funny but as long as he's not doing his business in the house, I'm down for it.
She sounds like she has separation anxiety maybe too? A crate would help, as would playing music while you're gone, toys she's interested in to keep her busy, and de-sensitizing her. Leaving for no reason at all, for five minutes. Then ten minutes. Then 20. Or, once she's on a schedule, if you can't be there, you could get a dog walker to come in once in a while to take care of her.
Good luck Diana.
eta: if she's going in the same spots on the carpet, she might smell where she's marked. There's something that everyone raves about here - Nature's Miracle? Something like that, to clean the heck out of animal stains.

yea i used to think crates were bad but realized its their little room. When they are a puppy they need this little room. Before they had crates my family had our puppy in a big cardboard box that was divided up with a blanket and newspapers. We walked her to go to the bathroom at set times made her own area to go and she was quick to learn.

Re: I am so over her peeing in the house - we need help bad!
Try to put her on a set schedule and put a lash on her to take her out. You shouldn't have to pick her up to take her out or be taking her out every hour. or maybe you can teach her to let you know when she needs to go. my SIL's friends have a small dog and they put a bell around a string and hung it on their door to the backyard. whenever she needs to go she just comes over to the bell and hits it with her paw. also, when your dog goes outside try to encourage her and pet her. or maybe give her a treat.
as a PP said she might have separation anxiety. try leaving her something of yours that she likes so she doesnt get too upset when you're gone. hopefully she'll get use to being alone and not need it. i usually leave my dog my slippers cause he seems to be obsessed with them.
Nature's Miracle didnt really work for us. i used white vinegar and water on the area he peed but we have hard wood floors. i'm not sure if you can use it on your rug but it's something to look into. it takes the smell right out.
eta: crates dont always work. my yorkie use to go potty in his crate.

I have to say, she def. does not think she is the pack leader. There is nothing about this dog that thinks she is the boss at all. She is the shyest, weakest little puppy ever. If anything, I think she doesn't go out by herself - because she doesn't think she's allowed out - if that makes any sense at all?
I tried the bell on the door - that didn't work at all. I think she def. has seperation anxiety - without a doubt!
Since I wrote this post the other night - there have been no accidents, but we have really stayed on top of her - so I'm praying that if we keep at it she will get the hint that it's better to go outside.

i ordered this big pen for ava... i felt too horrible crating her but she has an issue with chewing when no one's around and after losing all my sofas to her, i couldn't trust her. it's large enough that she can walk around, i leave food and water bowls in there, a blanket and toys. she loves it. it is her safe place, her happy zone when we are leaving this house. she goes over to it with her tail wagging when she knows i'm leaving. maybe try something like this for her. it's like baby gate material so she can see out and i leave it in a main room so she doesn't feel secluded. ava still has an issue with pooping on my floors occasionally, but she has never had an accident in this pen, ever. i also agree with putting her on a leash and taking her into the yard to show her it's okay to go out there on her own. if you coax her and make a big deal when she goes, maybe give her a treat, etc... in time she may feel comfortable running out there on her own when you open the door. ava had a big issue with peeing on my floors all the time... i leave pee pads down but she never goes on them. my other dog does though, so i won't stop using them. i had had enough, so this spring i really started making a point of letting her into the backyard very very frequently and she's been sooo much better. knock on wood, no pee pee accidents. just poop sometimes during the night. i don't really know what to do about that and i don't know what i'm gonna do when it starts to snow, because neither one of my dogs will go out in it, but for now what i'm doing has helped big time.
