Thank you all very much!!!!!!!! You have all made me feel much better.

My MIL nicknamed him her little squirrel. I think it is so sweetChat Icon

That is cute! Try not to worry about those comments. I get the opposite, for instance, someone said "HE'S HUGE!" this weekend about Matteo. Thank you very much! In their defense, he's over 100th percentile for height, 75th for weight so he is by no means small!

Re: I am so worried that Andrew is not thriving...

We don't do percentiles at our Ped office and I guess I'm glad. My nephew was always at the bottom of his chart and my SIL's dr. told her that that's the way these bell curves work. Someone or many for that matter has to be at the bottom of the curve and someone has to be at the top so don't feel bad. As long as he's gaining, that's all that matters. As far as height, Ellie is the same age as Andrew to the day and she was also 25 inches at our visit, but they weren't concerned about that at all. Unfortunately I'm not very tall and neither is DH so why would she be, right? People always think she's younger than 6 mos. Oh well.

My daughter is 15 months and she is still in the 5th percentile and has been since birth. THe Dr. told me not to worry about it until she is 2 or 3 then they will run other tests on her. My nephew who is 4 months old is an inch shorter then my daughter and is the same weight as her. It drives me nuts. I am 5 foot 8 and my DH is 6 foot 2 and then there is Kaylee 19lbs 28 inches at 15 months. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I am so worried that Andrew is not thriving...

between brendan's 4 and 6 month visits he gained less than a pound. i think he was 15lb 2 oz at 6 months. he was 9lb 5oz when he was born which put him at the 95%ile and at 6 months he was at the 25th. my ped said that as long as he doens't continue falling off the chart not to worry. he said that a baby's birth weight isn't really a good measure of how big their are. he said it's more an indication of how well the mother took care of herself during pregnancy. he said that babies will find the spot where they're supposed to be on the growth chart. maybe andrew's just adjusting to where his body want to be.
