I am still in shock. This was a friend. Why does this happen?

Chris was a parent of my son's friend.
Just was driving home from work, was less than 5 blocks from home...and his life was tragically taken from him...by a drunk driver.
Chris was an amazing husband and father. His wife has been in a wheelchair for several years due to MS. His youngest child has Autism.
Why?
The funeral mass today was heart-wrenching. The priest was even shaken, his voice broke several times. He said there was no reason for this tragedy. None.
So unbelievably horrible.

I always wonder why terrible things happen to such good people--it just isn't fair.
My heart goes out to you and to his family--they don't deserve this at all.

This is so sad I am so sick and tired of reading the news or watching the news and seeing all these stories about drunk drivers killing people. When are the laws going to change? You get in your car drunk, kill or injure someone you go to jail. MURDER. If you are drinking and driving your car becomes a weapon. So sick to my stomach over these things.

I too will never understand the degrees of criminality when it comes to murder. I truly hope the drivers are caught and given the maximum penalty. Hell, you get more time for buying marijuana than killing someone (maybe not, but you get my point).

That is such a tragedy. It is outrageous that your friend is gone because some moron decided to drunk drive. It's just not fair.
On an aside why don't the drunks ever get killed? It always seems that they walk away unscathed.

I was at st. Annes on sunday n the priest mentioned this tragedy. I feel sick thinking about it. May he rest in peace n b an angel to his children n wife.. I kno the st. Anne's community will come together to help his family during this difficult time

My mom was traveling home and saw this accident.. she said it was horrific-worst she's ever seen. My parents live very close to where this took place and I know it has shaken our family and we pray everyday for his family and friends. May he rest in peace.

So sorry for your loss.
It won't stop until people are forced to go to prison for dui, whether or not anyone was hurt or killed. It will take nothing short of that for this to become even a rare occurrence.
People who drive drunk and people who flee accident scenes should do lots of mandatory time. Depending on the circumstances, maybe the better part of a lifetime.

This accident was so close to me. It could have been me or my family I drive by that intersection all the time.
I just don't get why we don't have harsher penalities for drunk drivers!!!! He killed someone-lock him up and throw away the keys.

i dont understand why the drunk drivers themselves almost never die. Not like I wish death upon anyone, but why is it they always KILL someone else and they walk away? It makes me rage inside.
what a senseless tragedy.
