I am training for a half marathon and have a ?
OK..
so what is the best type of running schedule? Every other day?? Every 3 days?
Is it bad to run two days in a row (long distances each time??)
I did 9 miles yesterday. I had to miss my normal bootcamp class this morning, but i still am going to the gym this afternoon.
I am thinking of running again cause I am feeling pretty good today...but is that too much stress on the body??
My right knee hurts a tiny bit when i am done with the long runs, but quickly goes away. Today i feel good so just thought i'd ask..
When you are training for a half or full marathon what is your running schedule like?
TIA!!

Re: I am training for a half marathon and have a ?
When I wass training for the half I only did longer runs on either Sat or Sun. The rest of the runs during the week would be btwn 3-5 miles.
ETA: I would usually run Tues, Wed, Fri and then a long run Sat OR Sun.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Thank you! Maybe I will stick to around 5 miles today and wait till Fri or Sat for another long run...
I researched a bit after i posted here and they said exactly what you said...2 long runs per week and the rest of the week shorter runs OR interval running (sprinting and then slowing down). I will try this too!
Thanks!!

Re: I am training for a half marathon and have a ?
I ran 3-4 times per week. Most of the time it was Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. I did my long run either monday or saturday. I ran one 3-4 mile, one 4-5 mile, one 5-6 mile, and one long run (up to 11) per week. When i ran 3 times it was a 3-4, 5-6, and long. When is the race? Good luck with your training!

Rest or easy runs the day after a long run and the day before speed workouts. That's why a lot of people do speed workouts on Tuesdays...Monday is the rest day from Sunday's long run and before Tuesday's speed workout.
