I can NOT believe this!!!--2nd UPDATE
My dh started a new job last week. He goes into a they tell him that the guy who quit to go to school wants to come back full time as he won't be going to school now.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS!!!! WHY can't my dh find a DECENT place to work??????!!!!!
UPDATE: My dh got called for 2 interviews so crossing my fingers and toes something comes out of them 
2nd UPDATE: I am afraid to jinx this but my dh did get a full time job. He was actually hired on the spot and was given a higher position job than he went for. So far, so good. He likes it, it is close to home and the pay is ok and he will be reviewed in 3 months.

that sucks... i was working at a small property management company in China Town in 2007, and i got let go because the girl who i replaced wanted to come back... apparently the a$$ hole boss told her she could have her job back if she didnt stay in Florida...

I can not believe that people do this AND my husband has a home and family and they took back a KID who lives at HOME. I don't get it!!!!!!

that stinks...at least he found out early on that they are idiots! Hope he gets something else soon...DH & I are working crap p/t jobs right now so I know how you feel!

I can't take this anymore and don't know how much more I can take. NOTHING is working out for him. He had 2 temp seasonal jobs that they PROMISED him a permanent job and then laid him off because of the economy.
I can not believe that they would take someone back after hiring someone new.
HOW do you DO that?? This is a man with a family who needs a job. He is a good, reliable worker.
HOW do you sleep at night knowing you do this to someone!!!

Thank you. We have bills to pay, a home and children. I can't take this anymore and I have lost trust in EVERYONE in this world.
I know it is really frustrating, try and take it one day at a time. What kind of work does he do? Maybe someone else here knows of a job? I know so many pple right now looking for work with Masters degrees..PhDs..and they still cant find anything, its sad and ridiculous! It will turn around, hang in there

I have been for the last 3 years
He does warehouse work but will do pretty much anything at this point.
So sad as he really enjoyed this job, they were happy with him, it was close, the hours and pay were good for us.
I don't get it. The doors keep slamming shut for him

What does your DH do?
Warehouse work, forklift, shipping/receiving but at this point he will do "almost" anything he can find that pays decent and is in a good company.

OMG-really??
I am STILL sitting here going, I can not believe this has happened.
I just told my dh that he could write a book of jobs he has been screwed over-lol! Between people saying I will meet you, I will call you back, nothing. People saying you have the job, I will call you back, nothing. People hiring for temp to perm jobs and then never hiring after the 3 month period, 2 of them. This one taking away his job to bring someone back. I am sure I can think of more...

I know. I also remembered a few years ago the same thing happened to him when he was working at a place for a month. He worked at night and the woman who he replaced wanted to work days. She then changed her mind and took his job. He agreed to work the day shift but the little pay he was making at night was lowered and it was a totally different job and we couldn't afford the gas and the childcare for our kids.

Same here, that is awful!! I am floored that this happened to him..
At my last company we had a number of positions where the person left (usually a student or a temp worker) who then called and tried to return to their old position, usually within a few DAYS or weeks of having left - and the position was already filled..and HR would never take on the person who left once they filled the job..even right now, if an employee quits and wants to return, he/she can only do so if the old position hasn't been filled.
Its so disrespectful for an employer to do that..Ugh. my condolences to your DH.

Yup. I recently found out that someone was looking to apply to a position at our company that she probably would have been great at, had the exact experience with the population we work with, etc., and I told the person who was hiring for it. He thanked me, but said he had just offered it to someone else, but would keep her in mind if things did not work out with the new person.
I feel so bad for people out there who are looking right now when I hear stories like this. So awful!

Yup! One time, he left a job to work there and 5 months later, the guy who he replaced got out of rehab or something and wanted his job back.
