I've seen people put up their lights early if it's nice out  If they turned them on thats different.

 Sounds like my little brother. I swear even 1500miles away you can see the glow of his house at night as soon as it gets cold. CHRISTmas is not a holiday for him it's a season........Spring, Summer, Fallish, CHRISTmas. It last October to Jan

OKay well there is this house around the block from me who started putting up his decorations in SEPTEMBER! Yep i said it September! I think he does ths whole charity thing every year but seriously he has way too many decorations. Not one spot on his lawn is clear. It's full of blow ups and lights and signs and animated thingys. It's not that attractive anymore
I think we are neighbors!! and I know who you mean!

i have a neighbor who keep their christmas lights on the house illuminated ALL YEAR ROUND!!! I believe the reason is because their kids like them. Over the summer I heard their little boy singing at the top of his lungs "santa claus is coming to town". Poor, poor boy.

and i thought it was bad the guy in my neighborhood- who has the whole house lit up and FULL ON TREE in the window- on Veterens Day.

I disagree, if the home is a free standing home and there is no homeowners association, a homeowner can do what they want, when they want. especially when it comes to decorating the outside of their home.
They pay taxes just like everyone else on the block
I would rather someone put up decorations that see someone that just lets their house go, and i think its better to do it now, then when it gets really freezing cold.

Well, your neighbor is better than the person who lives around the corner from us... He still hasn't taken his down from LAST year LOL!!!! I guess at this point he is just going to leave them up-- might as well
It's ridiculous!

DH & I will be putting ours up early but that is bc we like to do it when it is not freezing outside. Of course, we wait until the weekend of Thanksgiving. We don't turn them on though until Dec 1st
