I cant believe the nerve of some people!
My DH works in a hospital, left his office to use the bathroom, he always locks the door and today he didnt. Comes back to see a guy standing in the doorway and DH asks him if he can help him. The guy has an empty cup of coffee and says I'm just looking for the trash.
Fast foward 3 or 4 hours, DH goes in his briefcase which was in the office, his wallet, phone & bluetooth are all gone. Ugh I wish DH had come back just a moment sooner and caught the SOB. He also shares his office with someone and today she happened to be off. I feel so violated, like this guy knows all about my family, our healthcare cards, pictures of the kids, etc...
So now whenever he gets home he's got to cancel everything and somehow get a new phone.
I hate people!

Tell him to start canceling everything NOW - before any purchases are 101e! Also, have the phone company disable the phone and blackberry ASAP!
That's very scary and I'm so sorry it happened to you. Best of luck getting everything straightened out. I can't imagine how violated you must feel.

are there security cameras? I'm sure that if he contacted security and looked at the tapes, he could identify who the guy was that was standing there.
In fact, I'm sure this guy did it to others not just your DH.
Give it a try. How awful...
Quicky change everything. Also, this guy now has your address.
Did he inform the police?

He reviewed the security tapes w/ security last night for a few hours but nothing. Even if they did see his face, he cant prove it bc he didnt see him take it, just saw him in his office. It was not an employee. The HR dept said someone found his cell belt clip and the person that found it heard it fall and then running down the hallway. He cancelled all his cards (no charges thank god), got a new bank acct, and has already gotten a new phone. He's just back from DMV too after applying for a new license. He is not upset about the $50 that was in his wallet, just the $50 Barnes & noble gift card that was in there

I hope he didn't have his SS card in there.

I Totally Agree!!! Also with calling the police , changing the locks & have DH report it to the hospital & maybe look at security tapes!
ETA: I'm glad that he has taken care of most things already but I'm really sorry you had to go through this.
