I checked my retirement account...
Down a big chunk from the start of the year and I didn't have that much to begin with

If it makes you feel any better the market is bound to go up again and you will make this money back. I'm assuming you are young and have many years till your retirement. Try not to worry too much especially if you are in for the long haul
PS...this is what my husband told me when i was worrying this afternoon

PS...this is what my husband told me when i was worrying this afternoon
My Dad said the same thing to me when I called him to please explain this whole thing to me in english.....he said you are young enough to not have to worry about your retirement funds right now

Same here... I haven't looked nor do I plan to.
I know it's low right now, but I'm in it for the long haul and won't be touching that money for at least 30 years.
There's no sense in losing my mind of it right now.

Well, I'm so sick to see that Sirius/XM Radio is down to 68 cents a share...
I bought it for 7 dollars a share...
I really can't afford to loose that money now.

Just think...While the market is low, your contributions are buying you even more shares. We'll all be in a great place when the market rebounds! (Trying to be an optimist).
But yes, I feel terrible for the people ready to retire.

I think all of our accounts got a beating but I think the biggest mistake is to pull your money out right now...the market is going to rebound, and while I believe that its going to be a while before we see it prosper, I think we're going to make up our losses.
