i don't know what i am going to do...
i adore babies and i CANNOT WAIT to meet this little guy.
but i HATE drool.
it grosses me out SO much. on babies and adults.
saliva is just so... ICK. i can't think of another way to describe it.
i know i am being a big baby and i will just have to suck it up (pardon the almost-pun).
but ewwwwwwwwwww

I think you can put drool on the top of the list of things that you are going to get over quickly. 
I felt the same way about poop, spitup and vomit. Spitup has become my newest accessory. Now DD only poops once a day yet I almost always am the lucky one to get that diaper. Vomit hasn't happened yet.
Drool on anyone who can wipe their own a$$ is definitely gross.

Most of us I am sure have one thing or another that grosses us out. For me it's the umbilical cord. I just can't. I just hope it doesn't fall off on me You will love your own baby's drool, I promise

BUT, when it is your child, it all seems to fly out the window. I wipe snot with my hand if I have to and think nothing of drool... and I LOVE sloppy kisses

OMG I am the same exact way. I hate drool and saliva. Dried up saliva smells like cool ranch doritos. I swear.
However, with my sisters kids who I am very close with, I was ok with it so I am sure I will be ok with it with my own kid

aww thanks kelly i had a feeling it would be different when it's *your* child, but having never done this before i am interested to see how i react.
DH has already promised to take all the dirty diapers - that doesn't phase him at all. oh he has no idea

I'm freaked out by vomit, so spit up vomit anything like that I think DH may have to come to the rescue that I don't do it myself

Drool I can handle if it is my kid. I do not look foward to the way formula smells when it is burped up...ugh. And wait until you get thrown up on for the first time. That is the most fun.

I think the drool is the least of our worries!!!!
I'm worried about projectile poop and vomit!  When I was at the doctor the other day this poor little boy got violently ill in the waiting room and I almost lost my lunch as a result.

Dh was the same way, he used to *fight* me to change diapers...I was like Merry Christmas it's ALL yours. Now that she is 2+ we do a "not it" scenario
and it is definitely different...but awesome. I have no desire to wipe anyone else's snot or drool though.
ETA: I DO gag sometimes, I ain't gonna lie. I tell Bella, mommy doesn't love you any less because she is gagging...but you are stinky right now

i have anxiety about the spit up issue. it freaks me out and i know theres no way to avoid it. i did hear however that breastfed babies spit up less so thats a big reason im going with bf. also once she grows up and is throwing up and wants her mommy to rub her back and hold her hair back, i dont know what im gonna do. ever since i was a little girl ive had a huge phobia of vomit. hopefully daddy will be around whenever that becomes an issue lol

It's funny because normally I find all these types of things disgusting but when it comes to my kid, nothing that has come out of her has ever grossed me out. For a germ a phobe like me, I am so surprised.
You will probably feel differently when it is the drool/snot/poop of your kid

I work in a lab, so I'm pretty immune to gross stuff... that's not my issue...
my issue is that I just don't relate to babies until their brains finish congealing.... (about 1.5-2 years). the exact time that everyone else seems to love babies the most, I view them as being still half-baked becuase they're not lucid... they can't remember stuff, they can't communicate, they have little personality
frankly, I think there's something wrong with me! I'm hoping and praying that it's different when it's my OWN half-baked 'baked good'.... otherwise I'll be counting the days until Crouton becomes lucid......
definitely a bad mommy......
