I dont know what to do anymore....

NI dont know what to with Christopher anymore. He is getting more difficult. I used to bea ble to go to the store with him and Matthew, now all he wants to do is get out and run all over the place. He CANT SIT STILL. This is why we dont go out to dinner or to many places anymore. I feel that Matthew is missing out. I feel like I always need someone with me when we go out to places now. Just last week we went to the Aquariaum and it was a disaster.
I cant leave Matthew and my purse all by themselves while Im running after him.
I tried so many supplements and even went as far as cutting carbs out like the DAN suggested.
I dont know if his OT is very good at giving me suggestions. The OT that was supposed to work with him, is no longer taking clients, so I was sad, because he knew my child so well.
My DH is losing patience. Maybe he needs medication...I dont know??
I just want to be able to go places and not have to always chase him
Plus...on Friday,chris had off from school. So my inlaws watched him. They brought him back to my house and I had to leave work early because they couldn't handle him anymore.

I'm sorry Is there anything going on transition-wise that he's having a tough time working through? My DS is going through something similar (acting out more and more when we're out, started a screeching tantrum thing that happens up to 5 times a day now.. A bunch of stuff) but his schedule is changing. I know that's the root of our problem. When things fall into a routine for us, I know he'll get back on track. Is there anything that's different in your routines?

I feel your pain. I really do.

DS is getting so difficult. I am so stressed out because of it.

Stimming almost non stop. Non verbal. Saying "ahh" all day. I feel like losing it.

He is going through separation anxiety with his dad. I ceased to exist. I only get the attitude at this point.

I am about to lose all faith.

Do you get parent training or SEIT? They can accompany you to the stores, or any public place and work with your son while you spend time with your other son.

I saw that you get SEIT, is your DC getting ABA. I would suggest implementing a waiting program and reinforcing him for sitting still for short intervals, holding your hand etc.

FM me if you have any questions, I work with a lot of older children in the natural environment on these types of things.

I've been through this so many times with Lance. I actually just started taking both of them out alone, and that's only for quick trips to the store.

My DD, 6 was recently diagnosed with ADHD. She also was diagnosed with PDD-NOS and is being re-evaluted for Asperger's Syndrome.

She has not satit still since about 18 months old. Going any where as well as even staying at home was a nightmare.

I tried changing her diet as well as using all natural supplements. I also tried behavior charts as well as other reward system. She just couldn't be still. Not to eat a meal or anything. She is now in first grade, and the teacher let me know that she wasn't focusing or completing her class work.

As much as I didn't want to, she is now on medication. She is 99% better. We tried 3 different meds, and she is now on Adderall 5mg. It works from breakfast up until 6-7 pm. She is growing well and has no trouble sleeping.

Medication was the right choice for us. Speak to your Doctor. Good Luck!

How old is your child? Maybe he does need medication. It's not the worst thing in the world if it will give him a better quality of life. I would speak to your medical doctor about it.

Supplemnets DO WORK for Christopher. There was a time we had to stop all of them to do aomething else, and he was aff the wall. When we put him back on, he changed for the good.

I have to say supplements and dietary changes have made tremendous difference in my dd. If our intestines have issues, our whole body including brain development is affected.

My dd's nutritionist is an OT, and she can link so many behaviors to nutritionial components.

It's like infertility, without treating our immune system so many issues occur in reproduction.

If a child doesn't feel well, they just can't attend no matter how much reward they are offered.

Can I ask how old is your son?


My son is the very same way, but is a little over 2 yrs old. I sometimes feel really guilty because I want to do more with his twin sister, but can't because he gets very over stimulated in large, crowded places. So, there are a few things that I do:

--I have the OT from Early Intervention meet me at a park, etc so that she can help me and work with my kids.

--I only go to parks (when I am by myself) that have a fence that encloses the park.

--When I go shopping, I always keep them both in a stroller. I know some parents that just let their kids walk around with them (God bless them!) I wish I could do that with even just one of my kids.

--I have gates everywhere in my house, so that he can't run off and I can easily access him/watch him...he is very fearless and would jump from the top of the staircase if he could.

--We really don't go out to eat with our kids, but when we do...we go to very casual/noncheck places...like panera, fastfood, etc. It sucks, but my son can't really handle it! Sometimes, If we want to have a somewhat peaceful dinner, I let him skip his afternoon nap and he sleeps in the stroller while my daughter, husband, and I get a quick bite. I hate doing that, but it's what works for us.

You probably already do some of these things, but I just wanted to share them with you and let you know that I feel your pain.

we cant go to the stores either but my see it wants to start taking him and working with him in these situations. i start 2 hours a day in the summer so we will be doing the park, beach, shoe store and outlets this summer.

To go to the store. We bring a juice box and a small ziplock of snacks. It works for us but you have limited time.
