I don't know where to post this, but I have a question about inventing something...
Yes, I'm like a 12 year old, but I have discovered that there is something that has not yet been invented to my knowledge, or at least if it is invented, it's hard to find and the average person cannot use it. Anyway, here's my stupid question: how do you go about making something once you have a brilliant idea? I mean, it's not machinery, it's less complicated than that, but complicated enough that I can't just make it. Anyway, do you get someone else to make your design? Again, I'm like a 12 year old with this question, but wondering if anyone knows?

FIRST, get a patent. You can patent the IDEA before you even have a prototype and that way you will know immediately if it is already OUT there just not marketed yet.
Not sure who can make it for you though, sorry - I know that was the question! LOL

I would see this type of thing alot in my line of work (product development)
most people patent the idea- very $$$$
and then pitich it to companies that make similar products
not to burst your bubble- but then those companies you pitch to are going to try to steal your idea with a design around the patent
it's very hard for the average person to invent something that they can't make on there own
there are also companies that claim they will help you with this- but those are also costly- my DH has an awesome idea- and spent alot of time looking into it- but got no where

Thanks, everyone. It's probably just one of those things I'll always have in the back of my mind, then 10 years from now when someone gets rich off of it, I'll sigh and say, "It would have been nice...."

DH and were talking tonight how they should make Chicken Nuggets stuffed with veggies so the kids will eat them....Mark my word....we will see this soon...(I know this isnt exactly the same thing but you get what Im saying)

Make sure you get a patent but be very careful with companies who claim to help you with patents. Some have been known to steal ideas.
I used to work with software engineers. They all told me to get a lawyer involved to protect your patent.

Off topic but the brand Alexia makes them. You can find them in Whole Foods or the organic food section. I get my DD the ones that are chicken nuggets stuffed with broccoli and cheese.

My husband's band works with the Library of Congress to icense (or mayb patent) their music. There is a form you complete and submit to the Library of Congress for their files. For the band, it's like $25 per song, I think.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but they already make this! It's by Veggie Patch. Look in the vegetarian section of the grocery dep't. Delicious I might add. Great idea though! (I've been eating them for years!
