I would never wear a white dress...period!  (not the most slimming color for me.)
So no, I would not wear a white dress to a wedding, BUT I wouldn't care if someone wore it to mine.

I would never wear an all white dress to anyone's wedding, but I wouldn't have cared if someone wore white to my wedding. I don't really see what the big deal is.

I wouldn't, b/c I don't own nor would buy a white dress. If someone had worn white to my wedding, I wouldn't have noticed. I can't really remember what people wore that day.

Oh my first post to LIFamilies.. yeah. & I have something to contribute.
I had someone in the wedding that wore white, I didn't even notice the color she was wearing that day. Everything was a blur anyway. But when I went through pictures with family & friends, people would stopped me & annoyingly ask who was that that wore white! The were annoyed for me.
AT least it was a short dress though, but still. I wouldn't do that to someone else's wedding. & it not like she was close to me & knew I didn't care. I really do not care as much, but it makes you think of their motivations for wearing it. She did look pretty in it so I can't fault her there. But I didn't know her well & you wonder if it was meant as an intentional slight. A lot of the older women in the family were pretty ticked off at it. They are all for the tradition..

I would never ever do it, but I have to say that if someone wore white to my wedding I would not have been upset...but thats just me... I could totally see a bride being upset by this.

One girl did to my friends wedding and wore one of those short sweaters in a maroon over it. hello that does not help
Someone did the exact same thing at my wedding, except it was a black sweater. And she took it off for the reception.
ETA: I didn't even notice what she was wearing until my friend told me after and I saw the pictures. I guess everyone was talking about her at the wedding. I was oblivious!

I wouldn't do it. Someone did wear white to mine though. It was a long dress too. Looked like something you would wear to a prom. She was only 19 so maybe she didn't know better.

i would personally not do it because you never know how the bride would feel, its just respect for the bride and her family.
but if someone wore a white dress to my wedding - as long as it wasnt my mom or fmil i wont give a crap..
some dummy in a white dress on my wedding day is not going to take any attention away from me. its just a color and if i didnt have to wear white i wouldnt. -- i wish i could wear black actually. i HATE white clothes.

I remember when you couldn't wear black to a wedding because it was deemed you were dressing for a funeral to a wedding. 
Personally, I would never wear white to a wedding- unless i'm the bride. 
I have to say, I went to a wedding in Israel a few years ago. My best friend was the bride. Another friend was there who was supposed to get married 4 days later. She wore a white pant-suit.
Two days later, her wedding was called off.
Not saying anything- I just though it was wierd.
