I feel like im trying to win an ending battle!!
So, I was a milk machine for the first week of DD's life but when i got staph from the c-section and got sick i couldn't pump during my 5 day hospital stay. Now I am home and trying to pump as much as I can and I can barely fill the bottom of the bottle. Before the staph, i was getting 3 ounces from the left and 2 ounces from the right. I want DD to have breastmilk and i don't want to lose it yet. Im trying to pump every 2.5 hours today even if im not getting much. Anything else i can do?? How can i re-increase my milk supply?? I posted this on the Parenting board too...but no one has replied...

Definitely take Fenugreek. And keep pumping and also let her try and nurse (notmuch will come out) but my body always responded better to actual baby than a pump. Pump when she's done

Be sure you're staying hydrated and drink lots of water. Eating oatmeal is supposed to help as well. Also, be sure you're eating enough yourself. I found when I wasn't eating enough, I wasn't producing enough. Some people on here swear by Mother's Milk Tea. I've had instances where my supply dipped and was able to get it back. Keep trying and don't give up!

I would try to nurse her as much and as often as possible. Nursing is better than pumping, but also pump after nursing. I know there are supplements you can take, but don't know much about them. People also say oatmeal helps, and so does a beer. Good luck!

I would if i could but she is unable to nurse. She has a very high upper palate in her mouth and refuses to latch. Have tried a few different LC's and she still won't, which is why I am EBF. I will try those suggesstions. I hope the Fenugreek works. Thanks.

I would try to contact the La Leche League. I am reading their book now and friends of mine have contacted them in the past. At this point it can't hurt. la leche league

Re: I feel like im trying to win an ending battle!!
OK first off make sure you are taking in enough calories. If I didn't eat enough with ds my milk supply would drop. Second send dh out to get you Gatorade and oatmeal. With ds I drank Gatorade (one medium size bottle a day) and ate oatmeal every morning. It was the only way to keep up with his demand. I have heard great things about More Milk Plus but have not tried it myself. I will try it this time if I have supply issues again. To stimulate the breast be sure to keep pumping 5 minutes after the breast is "emptied". If the pump starts to get uncomfortable from all the pumping you can lube the horns with a little olive oil. good luck

Are you breastfeeding too. If you are, I heard to pump write after you feed and not in between feedings. Other then that no advice, but good luck

If you are pumping and no milk is coming out, continue to pump. It will stimulate more milk. You have to be consistant.
