I fell off the wagon - how do you get back on?
I am incredibly disappointed in myself. After really committing to exercising for almost 2 years and losing 20 pounds, for the last 2 months I've done nothing but lie around and eat crap. I've been so depressed - mostly from the weather and things that have been going wrong at home. I just wasn't motivated and started gaining weight and now physically I just feel tired and lazy and awful. Every morning I tell myself that this is the day I get back on the treadmill and watching my meals, but it's been impossible to follow through. Anyone go through this? Is there hope to salvage all my hard work? I feel like I'm starting back at square one. :(

Start by drinking more water throughout the day & plan out healthy go-to snacks.
Don't try to be too drastic with your food intake. The best advice i got was to just act like it's a normal (healthy) day & eat what you would normally eat. If you try to go to extremes, you will fail & have to keep starting over.
Also, start incorporating small workouts or even just stretches through out the day as well. This will put you in the right mindset until you get back into a workout routine

Perfect advice! I have been where you have been, many times! I am finally BACK on track but it had to be gradual. I basically did the above, Started with higher water intake. Small workouts, not eating after a certain time etc. Now I'm in full swing and motivated like I haven't been in months! Good luck, perfect time to make the changes. I keep repeating... Summer bodies are made in winter!

Re: I fell off the wagon - how do you get back on?
I went through the same thing. I lost around 15lbs last year and just fell off the wagon. I recommitted on 1/3 and joined weigh watchers and joined a gym. So far, I've lost 20.6lbs and dropped a pant & shirt size.
I started counting points, and slowly working out. 10 minutes on the treadmill, 10 minutes on the elliptical. 10 minutes on free weights etc. Gradually extended the amount of time on each machine. Increased my water intake, and was mindful of what I ate.
Also, I started following several weight loss accounts on instagram. It's great motivation seeing these average people lose so much weight with just healthy eating and excising.

Re: I fell off the wagon - how do you get back on?
This month has been a killer with the weather! I feel like a hibernating, glutonous, sloth!
The PP gave good advice. Its the small changes. And 2 months is really not that long but the 2 years you changed is quite an accomplishment!! Give yourself credit.
Just curious - what worked for you then? For me with excercise what works is "no excuses". As soon as my mind starts saying "nah i will do it tomorrow" I get up and move.
Small nutritional changes is a great start too!
Also set a few goal (healthy food shopping, meal planning, calorie intake or WW points, minutes excercised etc). i think that helps a lot!

Re: I fell off the wagon - how do you get back on?
Thanks for the advice and encouragement! To the above poster, what worked for me the first time was desperation - I was asked to be MOH in a wedding and the dress was a "mermaid" type - nowhere to hide my body! Once I lost a bit and started getting compliments, that was additional motivation.
