I give you CIO moms a lot of credit!
Saturday night Dh was out so I was going to let Molly CIO if she woke up since DH won't let her cry...he just can't listen to her cry and not do anything. So, I spoke with my sister, who has 4 kids, and she suggested that I wait 10-15 minutes before trying to help her go back to sleep, barring there isn't anything wrong like a messy diaper. So, I was able to last about 2 minutes before I gave up and decided CIO is not for me. I just can't do it. Any other suggestions? Molly is sleeping pretty well but not always through the night consistantly. She usually needs me to give her back her pacifier 1-2x a night.

Keep on giving the pacifier for now. Either she'll sleep through naturally at some point, or you'll try CIO another time when you are confident that it is the only solution.

Is she able to pick the binky back up if she sees it? Parker can't always do it, but I put a few in her crib and sometimes she is able to get it herself.

Re: I give you CIO moms a lot of credit!
I had the same problem with Gianna with the paci. She would get get up 2-4 times a night all of sudden. She is a good sleeper but if that paci fell out she wasn't quite there yet to find it and put it back.
I asked my PED about that very thing at our 9 month visit and he said to my surprise, she's manipulating us! I thought it was teething, or she needed to s u c k.
We weaned her off the paci, and it's been over two weeks now, and even with her teething, she is out like a light and doesn't wake up in the middle of the night at all anymore and goes down for naps so easily.
I know lots of moms here wean paci's later, but for us, it wasn't too bad, and I am so glad i did it so early. i think the later you wait the harder it is. She only gave me a hard time 3 or 4 times during the course of the 1st week, and 95% of those times it was it during the day naps she had the most problem with going to sleep without paci.
We put her down now, she goes to sleep within 2-3 minutes of whining or none at all, and is out.
Morgan I am NOT A CIO MOM AT ALL either
