I guess today is shower question day... Anyone having (or had) TWO showers?
My mom is throwing me a shower in NY and my MIL is having one for me in FL (where we live now). They will be about 5-6 weeks apart. The families are split 50/50 in NY and FL so this is the best way.
Was your Mom and MIL at both showers? My MIL will be at both (her and FIL are taking us up to NY) and my Mom is thinking about coming down for the FL shower, but not sure yet b/c of all the traveling she'll be doing.
How did you handle registering, did you put everything on at once or go back and add things after the first shower?

I haven't had a shower yet but DH and I will be having 2 showers. I live in downeast maine so we will be having a shower here with DH's family and my family lives in NH and can't get where i live so we will also have one in NH too. June will be a busy month.

Are you just going to register for everything now or wait and add more stuff before the 2nd shower?

Jess, even though I am not pregnant yet, since I am in your position, how are you going to get the gifts down to Florida-I don't know why this popped in my head last night! I know when it is our time, my mom is throwing me a shower in NY and we live in Florida. I was just curious.

I'm having two showers - one on LI with my fam and one in Rochester with DH's fam. They are only one week apart though, so I'm putting everything on the registry at once. Even if they were spread apart though, I'd probably still put everything on at once. It'd drive me nuts to have to do it in stages. But I'm a bit of a control freak.

We are driving.  With me being terrified to fly to begin with (I do usually fly anyway, but being pregnant I don't want to get so stressed and anxious if I don't have to) and having to get all the gifts back down somehow, we decided to drive. The IL's, who live down here too, offered to drive with us. They do the drive from FL to NY a lot b/c they have houses in both places so they don't mind.
Honestly, i'm sure we're going to have to ship some big gifts down anyway. The shower is going to be pretty big and I know how generous my family is... but we'll make it work.

I didn't realize you lived in Florida.
I only had one shower but in your situation, I'd try to pick national chains that are in both NY and FL and keep one registry.
