I had my birthing class yesterday
Since I found out last week that I was already dilated 2-3 cm and 70% effaced I was afraid that I wouldn't make it. It was interesting though. They spoke about a lot of relaxation techniques that I hadn't thought of and they kept telling all the husbands how important it was too keep the wifes comfortable and how is was there job to massage back and feet the whole time. I liked that part.

They went over a bunch of things. Different kinds of music that you should listen too during labor, different types of massages that DH should do and different things to use like tennis balls and a rice sock as a heating pad. They said that rocking chairs are supposed to be really good for laboring. All of the rooms in the hospital where I am delivering have showers because they said that water is something that really is supposed to relieve labor pains.

Re: I had my birthing class yesterday
thanks! some of those are different than the ones we learned at my class, so it's always nice to hear more. they told us tubs were good and that walking around and swaying on the birthing ball both help the baby progress downwards in early labor. now tell dh to practice those massage techniques
