If you tip toe around while he is asleep he is going to grow up needed COMPLETE SILENCE to sleep!
I kinda agree with this. My cousins from Australia were also in Italy once when we were there for the summer, and their son was sleeping and they were running around the house telling everyone to shush because their son was sleeping 4 rooms away... and this house is grand central station (Giovanna, youve met Zia Ida, her voice can be heard from here to ITaly )
Of course only you know your own child and every mom knows whats best, if youre seeing that he's not sleeping well because of his light sleep, then you should def try the white noise, but it might make life worse down the road (you might have a noisy neighbor in the next cabin on the cruise next year, you might wanna bring him in the stroller to the show at night

I understand your point but I don't know how loud noises is going to help him sleep. He'll wake up constantly or won't go to sleep at all. He can fall asleep with noises outside. The problem is him staying asleep.

Maybe you should try the white noise machine? I hope he sleeps better for you!
To the poster that complained about cops and firemen. Not all the guys that drive the trucks are out for attention. My DH is a city fireman and drives the truck. You'd be surprised how many people don't move out of their way with the sirens going, so you can imagine how much worse it would be if they didn't use them. Don't hate them! I don't want to start drama, I just want to give you the other perspective, they aren't all attention starved idiots (although maybe some are, who knows!)

Re: I hate my block...
He moves his head a lot during his sleep as if he's trying to get comfortable. He'll repeat this throughout his sleep and this is what is concerning me about him not getting a restful sleep.
He went to bed at 8:30, by the time he fell a sleep it was about 8:50. Then there were brief moments where he got up and went back down. He got officially at 7 but most of his sleep was spent with him moving his head as if trying to get comfortable.
Do you have any idea what this may mean?

For those of you with babies that sleep lightly. How do they sleep?
