No one, even family, can truly understand how hard IF is unless they've gone through it. Some people just have a better way of trying to console you. I'm sorry your family didn't really react the way you had hoped

Yeah. I feel you on that one. Here's the jist of how telling my mom went:

Me: So, it looks like I'm going to have some trouble getting pregnant.

Mom: Oh? Why is that?

Me: Because I was just diagnosed with PCOS (insert lengthy explanation here).

Mom: Well, you're rushing into things anyway. You just moved to a new state, and you're too young--you shouldn't be thinking about kids right now, anyway. (P.S. I'm 27).

Hey...thanks for the support! I actually told her the other day, "Now, aren't you glad I didn't wait to follow up on this like you told me to?"

The very reasons why we chose not to tell them about our IF issues at the time.

Sorry. My mother and sister are the same way. I will start to tell my mom how I am feeling or whats going on she will pretend to listen and then go right on to anything that has to do with my sister and her problems . This is the reason we decided not to tell anyone else.
