I hate my hair.

There. I said it.

My hair sucks.

It's extremely thick, sort of wavy, and my scalp gets greasy by the end of the day in the heat. I hate wearing it down when it's hot, but then I get all these frizzy pieces flying around and it looks horrible. Blow drying/hair straightening is tough when getting ready in the mornings, and it gets hot in our home in the summer, so it's not ideal for using them. My blow dryer is only a year old (Rusk Speed Freak), but my Chi is about 8-years-old.

Any recommendations for products or tools to use?

I haven't because I always felt that my hair wasn't wavy enough for it. A couple of people at work get Keratin but they have super wavy/curly hair.

The woman who does my hair was telling me about it and honestly it's not just for super curly, ethnic or coarse hair.
The one she uses she says is good for anyone who wants to cut frizz and drying time.
I'd check into it.
It's not like the harsh Japanese straighteners etc

I have straight thin hair but has frizz to it. I had the coppola keratin done a few weeks ago and love it. You can't go in the ocean because the salt breaks it down. But I never do anyway.
It's definitely not just for thick hair.

Get it done!!!!! Your life will be changed. And are you ok in the winter with your hair? Mine is frizzy mostly only in the summer so I do the Keratin only in the summer. My hair has been great this week cause I just did it on sunday!

Thanks for the suggestion ladies. It sounds like it would work for me, but with DH losing his job, and looking up prices for this, there's no way I can spend this kind of money right now.

I hate my hair.

Def keratin ! You don't need super wavy or thick hair. It straightens and controls any type into a smooth, soft manageable head of hair. Look in my album! I do it every 4-5 mos

i have your kind of hair. i use the baby bliss iron only on the outermost layer of my hair a few nights a week and i'm done. it was a good investment, works well, doesn't take me more than 10 min.

Re: I hate my hair.

I have hair very similar to yours. Mine doesnt get greasy though. A couple of tips. Dont touch it! Dont brush it! For a while I was using a tiny bit of coconut oil to act as a styling cream. Now I use a smoother and a Chi styling cream. Scruples renewal smoother is great. I try to just put the product in and let it air dry. Avoid your scalp if it gets greasy

Re: I hate my hair.

You just described my hair!

I've never done keratin but what I find works is to condition my hair very well, but NOT my roots. I use Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum, again, not on my roots. And I LOVE my Jilbere flat iron. I've tried a lot of irons and that's my favorite by far!

It's a 10 spray in conditioner will take away alot of the frizz. My little sister's hair is like your's really thick and wavy ,I turned her on to this and now she can't live without it. It's not cheap, I have found harmon has it for the cheapest. Like $27 for a big bottle and you can use a BBB coupon.

I also swear by WEN . If you use it correctly your hair will be amazing. Mine isnt frezzy at all any more and I can go 3-4 days without washing it. I have to wash it every other day with regular shampoo.

I hate my hair.

I do the keratin myself. 50 bucks on Amazon and since my hair is on the short side I get 2 applications out of it.

I feel the same the majority of the time, but remember someday you might not have that hair so be thankful you have it hate.

That's what I tell myself when I want to shave it off. I complained when it changed due to drugs and chemo and after surgery so now I remind myself how lucky I should feel.

But I don't always like it :)

There is a place in East Meadow that usually charges 120 for the Brazilian blowout but, has a coupon out and is charging 95. She told me if you just mention the coupon she will honor it. It's Fusion Beauty on N Jerusalem Road.

Re: I hate my hair.

What kind of products do you use? And what kind of haircut do you have?

Product and a good haircut go a LONG way -you might not need the keratin .......

Re: I hate my hair.

I have the same EXACT hair as you, thick, frizzy, wavy underneath in the back.
It gets very oily I wash it every day.

I get a keratin treatment every 12 weeks.
I also do a veggie color every 4 weeks to mask the grey which helps with the oil a bit.
