I have a question about tennis bracelets
I've been looking at them and most of them I've seen in stores or online have a color of G or higher. Does anyone have one and what is the color and clarity? Is it like an E ring where you need better color or because the stones are smaller they are more forgiving? Thanks!

Re: I have a question about tennis bracelets
not sure... but i would think since the stones are smaller they would be more forgiving. i know that my E ring has pave set stones, they are not as high quality as the main stone, but you can't tell at all because they are smaller...

Re: I have a question about tennis bracelets
As I understand it, G is still considered near-colorless so any diamond used for a bracelet would be fine.
As for my own opinion, I think it depends on how large the stones are going to be in the bracelet. If you're getting anything in the area of 2-5 carats I don't think you need to worry the way you would with an e-ring. If you were going for something larger where you could really see each and every stone, then you may want to consider the color and clarity of each stone in the bracelet.
On a whole, the bracelet will look nice with a G color and anywhere from VS1 to SI1 or SI2 in clarity. Again the diamonds are typically much smaller than something in an e-ring so you're not going to see them the same way.
Good luck and enjoy that bracelet when you get it!!!

Re: I have a question about tennis bracelets
I have a tennis bracelet and have no clue what the color and clarity of the stones are. all I know is that it's gorgeous. the stones are very white, eye clean and they sparkle.
I would be very skeptical of a tennis bracelet with an E color - unless it was 10's of thousands of $$$. it just doesn't make sense for them to be of such high quality when they're so small. I wouldn't believe it - again though... unless it was $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Thanks everyone!
One more question. What's an average total carat of a tennis bracelet. A 1ct TW is small right?

So it's a small bracelet for that price right? I've just browsed online and seen some that seem reasonable but not seeing them in person makes it hard to judge size. I looked at some at a jeweler this weekend and they were gorgeous but over 5K

it depends what your taste is. but IMO, 1 ct total weight is very small for a tennis bracelet. mine is almost 4 carats, and the stones are not very big.

Re: I have a question about tennis bracelets
I have a 2 carat TB. It's small but b/c the diamonds are in a bezel setting they appear larger.
I don't know what it would go for retail since I purchased mine wholesale for $200 about 8 years ago.

Thanks this gives me a better idea of what to look for. Unfortunately we don't have access to good diamond prices.

Re: I have a question about tennis bracelets
I got my tennis bracelet for my 30th and its white gold bezel set 5 carat. To me 5 carats is a nice size for a tennis bracelet- the stones arent so small, and the bezel set is a classic. I wear mine everyday, its so sparkly and beautiful. Good luck hope you get one you love, just be sure to wear it all the time!
