The whole concept kinda freaks me out... Ive never been to a psychic or had any kinda reading...
I guess I believe there are some that are really true... so I just stay away...

Same here - I have no interest in going to a psychic or anything like that in case I hear something scary or bad!

I kinda do. I think its pretty cool. I went to a pyshic fair with my mom 2 yrs ago at the hilton on 110 and the woman didnt do tarot cards she did them with regular playing cards and she was right on the money-
the tarot cards I think work off our energy that we are feeling right then and there. what I dont like about tarot cards is that you split the deck and what ever cards come up is the story they go by. a lot of times when I did tarot readings the comments were just too random.

same for me... I think I believe them to a point but I take everything with a grain of salt and keep that its probably not real in the back of my head.
I went to a psychic once in the city and the things he knew about me were scary!! Not only that but he predicted SO much stuff that came true!

I think any form of divination is just what you put into it and what you decide to get out of it. There's a lot of intuition involved either way. I'm not going to discredit it, but I don't know how "true" it is either. it's the same concept with runes. You pull the cards out at random, and the hope s that someting, your unconscious consciousness, or god, or whatever will lead you to what you need to know, but I mean 90% of it is just how you interpret the symbols. And the other 10% may be complete malarkey. Just chance.

I don't really believe in them either but I also find them interesting... but I do believe the whole self-fullfilling prophecy theory applies to tarot card readings too.

A tarot card reading would be fun. I've never had one. I would have gotten my own set a long time ago, but you're not "supposed" to buy them for yourself. But now I'm not really that interested in it, they'd just collect dust

well i have to say i really don't believe in celebrity and write in readings
not that i put much worth in them anyway...
but that just seems silly
ETA...in the books i have read the person is supposed to be there to cut and pick the cards

Yes true tarot readers you have to be present and touch the cards- its suppose to be your energy that the cards read off of.

i'll tell you guys a quick story, and you can decide what you think from there:
on Sept. 8, 2001, I went to a friends block party in Queens. There was a guy there doing Tarot Card readings. I NEVER EVER believed in them, or Palm readers for that matter, but my girlfriend and i reluctantly decided to do it, just for fun i guess.
He proceeded to tell me a little bit about myself, which he was ON POINT about everything!!! personality wise, etc. He then proceeded to tell me that something BIG was going to happen. It was going to be HUGE, and that it would put things back into perspective for me, and that my life would change drastically!!! (i was going thru a rough time personally at that time)...He then told me that i was going to fall in love with a guy named "eddie"...and that "eddie" was my soulmate all along, and i didn't know it.
I left there laughing hysterically about it all, because at the time, the guy doing work on my apartment was named eddie...(he was my friend's BIL)
Needless to say, 3 days later, Sept. 11 happened. and EVERYTHING changed!!
DH (whose name is eddie!! )...and I started to spend alot of time together, talking about everything that happened, how we felt about it all, and what he went thru down at ground zero. It was all just surreal.
Today, he is my best friend and my soulmate.  
So, do i believe in tarot cards, or the "reading's" as some put it: YES!
