I have a son!
Hi Girls,
Our DS decided to make an early appearance. He wasn't due until April 1st but he decided to come two weeks early.
My DS  Dylan Patrick was born on Wednesday 3/19. That Monday I started losing my mucus plug. Tuesday morning I woke up with some light cramping down low and I stayed home from work thinking that it might be the start of things and then nothing for the rest of the day. Tues. night I fell asleep in bed watching TV and I rolled over my water broke. It wasn't a big gush, but enough that I felt it and woke up. This was 10 at night.
I called the number for my Dr. and she said to come right down to the hospital to be monitored. I wasn't thrilled with that because I wanted to labor at home for a while so DH and I were taking our time getting ready. But, then the contractions started and they weren't too painful but they were coming every 3 min. By the time we got to the hospital and got checked in about an hour after my water broke I was having contractions every 2 min. This was not what they told me would happen at our Lamaze class!
After four hours of labor with contractions every two minutes I asked for an epi. After that it was wonderful. I couldn't feel anything and DH and I both slept for a little while. Around 6 am I was 10 cm and started pushing. This part was not fun, I was trying so hard and it still took so long. An hour and a half later at 7:26am our son Dylan was born. He was 7 lbs 3 oz and 191/2 inches with a full head of blond hair.
Of course we think he is perfect! Here are some pictures of my little man.
