I have had some REALLY BAD parenting moments in my life....
But I have NEVER plucked my 3 year old's eyebrows, spray tanned a child, or forced my child to wear false teeth to cover up her crooked ones.
Yes, I am watching Toddlers and Tiaras, and on this MOther's Day Eve, I am feeling like a FANTASTIC mom compared to these lunatics.
I try not to be judgemental, but there is something about watching this show that makes me feel so much better about myself as a mom.
Happy Mother's Day to all the other great, non-plucking, non-spray-tanning, non-false teeth moms!!!

I cracked up when you said false teeth! my 2 year old chipped her tooth after crashing into her sister.
My first shallow thought was OMG family pictures!!!! 
If that happened to one of the pagent moms-forget it. The childs tooth would be bonded an hour later.
My daughter will have a chipped tooth til she loses it and her perm tooth comes in.

These people are the wack-a-doo extreme. I did beauty contests as a child. I never wore make-up or anything fake. Well, my mom did put velvet ribbon in my hair. Does that count as fake? 
I still have most of my books and look at the other girls. Make-up was barely worn by anyone under the age of 8. Up until about the age of 13 or 14 it was mainly just lipstick. But I assume that was because dark lips really make the teeth look much brighter. (That was even reiterated to me when I began with NBC.)
I think a lot of things have just become extreme lately. Just look at the dance posts over the past few days.

I totally agree too...... it's just that the marathon made me feel SO good about myself as a parent!!!
