I just got the most incredible phone call!!
My best friend (we go back to 6th grade) is currently living in Kentucky. She and her DH have struggled with infertility and have been told by multiple doctors that they would not be able to get pregnant on their own. They lived out of the country for 3 years and didn't want to do IVF there. They moved back 3 months ago.
She texted me this morning with a pic of a baby an the message "Call me!" I called her and jokingly said, "Let me guess.... You didn't know you were pregnant?!" She says, "Close!" Apparently, her DHs cousin called them Sunday night. Her daughter had just had a baby she didn't want and the adoptive parents had changed their minds. Knowing about my friends infertility issues, they thought of them. My friend and her DH went to the hospital immediately, met the birth mom, met the baby, and said yes!! They were allowed to take the baby home yesterday, through some "pending adoption" loophole. They are now the proud parents Of little Olivia, and three days ago they had no plans to have any of this happen!!
I'm so freaking thrilled for them, I'm over the moon with joy. On the phone she said, "I think my heart is going to explode.... Is it normal to feel like this?" I told her to get used to it
