Ladies, I didn't get both my private school position or my current public school position until August (both times), only a few weeks before school started.
I know it's really hard, and really nerve-wracking because unlike other jobs hiring doesn't take place all year round but there is still hope.
People retire at the last minute, there are last minute movements of personnel, enrollement is higher than expected and positions have to be added, etc.
I wish all of you the best of luck.

I know what you guys are going through...
Last summer, I sat on my *** practically all the time, writing cover letters and sending them out. DH and I were going to Alaska for a week and a half during the latter part of August. (This had been planned for over a year).
Do you know that I had not one, but TWO perfect job offers that came up? Both of them wanted me (Bethpage SD and the Progressive School in Merrick)...but they both wanted my final interview to be during that one week we wouldn't be here. Needless to say, I didn't get either job.
You'll start getting calls this summer, guaranteed. Teachers will decide not to return for the year, there will be sudden retirees...they'll come...keep your spirits up!!
