I know I dont have a little one but i need some ideas
Kryssy is turning 16  this Nov. She does not want a huge party. She just wants to go t the mall with a bunch of her friends for the day and then eat dinner at Old Country Buffet. Which is fine and dandy, man i have been sweating this for years, with her watching the show on MTV and being in aww over the stuff that she saw. But then she turned around to me and said yeah it is nice but so uncalled for mommy. I want that stuff for my wedding.  yes she is a teen who said that. Gotta love a kid like that , especially at her age.
So my question is HOW can I make it a little more special? Do you think a limo for her and her friends is too much? I mean she wants to keep it plain jane. I never had a sweet 16 and i was all set to go all out. I want to give her what she wants. Should I surprise her with one?

Sounds like a good kid!
What are some things she likes?
I wouldn't do a limo to go to the mall... KWIM?
How many friends is it going to be? Maybe you can take them all for mani/pedi and then go to the outlets or something??

there are about 10 kids on her list not including family. Boys and girls.

I wouldn't do the limo -
I was going the suggest the mani/pedi as well but I don't think the boys would like that :) Is there something special at the mall they would like to do?

The kids love the store hot topic and FYE. They just want to hang out there for a couple of hours then eat. She wants to go to the South Shore mall because it has the Old Country Buffet. I think she is relating it to Keith, subconsciously, It was the first place we went to meet his family. And she love that place.

I think this a great idea!
Or you could all take a limo into the city for dinner and go to a fun place for dessert

This is a great idea...what about going to the city to see the rockettes? I mean i am not 16 but I have been going to see them every year for the last couple of years. Is her bday late in November? I think they are lighting the tree December 1st and you could do that with macys and everything.

This maybe would work. I would need a xanax for it, i am TERRIFIED of the city. Then to add teens that are not mine i have to worry about, yeah i would need a few xanax. (and not it is not because of terrorist, i am afraid of getting robbed and random shootings. yes i am sad)

For my friend's sweet 16 her parents took about 8 of us in a limo into the city for dinner and ice skating at Rock Center. It was so much fun. Would she like that?
If not, I would not take a limo to the mall. If you wanted to do something maybe rent a party van.
If not, I would do exactly what she wants - sounds like she knows what she wants anyway!

Maybe you can get another parent or family member to help you out. And if you're traveling in with your own car (limo) you have someplace "safe" to go into ya know?

She does not know about the limo part. I just was trying to make it a little more special. Is the rink open in nov? I have no clue about anything in the city. I never go there except to bring her to MSG. I have never really been any where else in the city.

Yeah I know. I know i have to get over my fear. I will run the idea by her and see what she says. My mom would of course want to be there. But then again that might not be a good idea, it is because of her and what she said to me once while we where in the city when i was a kid that made me scared of it. LOL
