I know this has been done before but any advice on weaning from bottle to sippy?
DS has been on milk now for a few weeks and he loves it. I want to try to get rid of the bottles now. I tried in his sippy (Nuby No Spill) he drank an ounce and tossed it. He is not a big water/juice drinker however he knows how to drink out of that sippy.

I would love to know this too...
DD is great with sippy cup with water. Been on milk for two weeks from bottle.. thinking maybe its time to stop bottle and put milk in sippy cup..
Do you just do it clear cut? milk in sippy cup? I would love to have this resolved before baby #2 comes... plus dump the paci.

I just cut out one of the day time bottles, and did a sippy of water. Now that DS is officially of formula, I plan to slowly replace the other 3 bottles with milk in sippy's. nIghtime bottle will be last. I'll let ya know how it goes, HA!

I did it cold turkey. At first, her consumption of milk dramatically dropped, but it picked up again in no time. I'm sorry I don't have any better advice!

I did it cold turkey also. As soon as she switched from bm in a bottle to whole milk, I went right to the sippy & there was no going back. She was a champ w/ it (now I just have to work on the paci).

I was also scared I really was dreading having to do this.
Anyway we decided to do it cold turkey, and it worked. DS never even so much as blinked he just accepted it and its been about 1 1/2 months and so far so good.

I tried every kind of sippy cup I could find. From advice on here, I finally tried the take & toss ones and that's what worked for DD. To this day, it's the only kind she likes, although now she'll drink from a straw too.

YEs I would say do it cold turkey,our pediatrician recommended keeping the night time bottle and giving him sippys during the day, but I thought that this was worse becsue then Ds would get even more attached to the 1 night time bottle and make it even harder when we tried to take the night time bottle away.
So aleast for us cold turkey worked great (knock on wood)
we never gave DS a paci, so I can't help there.

I'm trying to do this right now (DS is 13 mos) - DS drinks fine from a variety of sippy's - he drinks water/juice from it just fine but, for some reason is resisting the milk - he literally points to the bottle in the kitchen on the rack and says "that" and pushes the sippy out of the way  But my DS is VERY stubborn - he was EBF and it took me a MONTH to get him to finally take a full bottle! So i didn't expect this to be easy! I just phased out one bottle this week - but he was getting four a day (now 3) so it's going to be a long haul! Sorry I don't have much more advice...we are doing it slow here since I hate having to feed him in the middle of the night! Good luck!
