I lost the only grandparent I have ever known today..
Today my life was changed forever.
Today my familys lives were altered in a way that is just so sad and surreal that I cant believe we are here.
Today is the first day on our journey to a "new normal."
Today was the day that God decided to take my precious Grandmother home. She passed away in my mothers arms this morning with her family surrounding her with words of love for the absolutely most wonderful woman, mother, grandmother and great grandmother she had been for so long to us all.
She went into the hospital on Wednesday night and had been unconscious ever since. The doctors told us she had a matter of hours. Well of course, my 95 year old precious grandmother fought and against all odds, survived until early this morning. She wasnt in pain..her breathing just became more and more labored. She slowly left us, all the while my mother holding her and telling her it was ok to go, telling her stories of the past and just how much she was and always will be loved by us all.
Today I lost one of THE most influential, most special people that has ever entered my life. Today I lost my Gram and although she was 95 years old and lived a full life, it still doesnt hurt any less.

I also lost the only grandparent I ever knew, I was 16 at the time.
