I made a big mistake yesterday Re: Dryer
We have Gas in our home but an electric dryer from the previous owner.
We are making the change over to a gas dryer...but in the meantime using the one we have.
Well, it has no timer...meaning I must go down and literally turn it off or it wll just keep going and going, (why we need a new dryer) and sure enough I was doing laundry and thought I turned it off, went out...8 hrs later come home
DH screams....did you turn the dryer on?
OMG, NO, it was running all day!!!
So am I going to have a huge electric bill now? Outside of my shrunken clothes!!

Well your bill will be higher but I don't think it will be insane...Even with our CAC running for 8 hours a day in the summer, our bills are not insane....

Average dryer = 5000 watts If you put in dryer for 8 hours, for an entire day, at the national average of 9.86 cents per watt, you're looking at about $4. Add or subtract as appropriate if you you know the cost of your electric. Either way, it's not very much.
