Cakebread is the family name of a winery out in Cali. Its not widely sold in many wine store on the east coast, though you will probably find a bottle of their Cab, Merlot or Chard randomly. Cakebread is on the expensive side bc of this.
TRIVIA: So I asked the same thing to the guy at the vineyard. What's up with the cakebread name. He told us the family name originates from the 17th century when all peasants could afford was this tasteless hard bread that would last a family for days. Recently the Cakebread family hired an historian to research their surname.
When Marie Antoinette famously said "let them eat cake" it was her way of saying: "Let them eat sh!t" not a delicious cake!!!!

I like either whites or light reds like a pinot noir. I actually love one glass of pinot noir sitting next to one glass of coca cola.

Another Trivia fact: In actuality, Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake."
It is not known who said those words, if anyone at all. The belief is that it was published by Rousseau when Marie antoinette was only 10 and still living in Austria. He said the words were said by a "Great Princess," but it had to be a princess before Marie Antoinette's time.
