I need a chicken pox vaccination
my prelim blood work I had done at my RMA consult in July came back showing that i had no immunity, or an undetermined amount to be considered not immune to the Chicken Pox, even though i did have it as a child.
I called ten places...none of them give this shot. My family dr wont, my son's pediatrician wont (even though they've given me the flu shot before); my local walmart says they have it, but wont tell me how much it will cost until I go there and they can try to run my insurance; Im going there tomorrow.
walgreens wants $250 for it and I can only get it covered if its through the walgreens clinic, not the pharmacy. which there isnt a walgreens clinic near here.
and I have to wait a month before I can get pregnant after getting vaccinated. which is fine b/c i would be starting IVF until next month anyway.
Jesus..what a pain in the ass.

Apparently when my RE did my work up they claimed I had no immunity either(even though I had the shot in the last 15 years). I didn't get it due to it being recognized at the start of a FET cycle. I just held off; I do plan on getting it once stop BF.
The odds catching it is so much smaller than it once was.

I know..but they're insisting I get this booster shot. I found a walmart near me to do it. I feel like if they want people to get the shot, they should administer it at their offices and not send me on a goose chase.
oddly enough this never came up in my pregnancy with DS with all that blood work they do early on. I wonder if they even check for things like that.

So annoying! Always something .
But you are better then me lol, my bloodwork showed I actually had chickenpox (I had it as a child so I guess this would technically be shingles). I showed no symptoms but I had to delay things until my numbers went down.

I also had a strong case of CP as a child. Had immunity even during my only pregnancy. 2 years ago RE does testing on me, tells me I have NONE and that I need the shot. I refuse to get it, refuse to believe my immunity is gone. Well lo and behold another clinic tested me this year and there it is, my immunity is showing up on the tests they did! So it could be false!!! I didnt want the shot and refuse to get it.

I did IVF at RMA and it also showed I was not immune even though I had the shot in the early 2000s. I did not get it before my cycle as the timing was not possible. I got it when DS was 3-4 months old and then a second dose a few months later.

i got the shot yesterday and im not starting IVF until next cycle which would be later this month or early september. They said I cannot get pregnant within 4 weeks of the shot so the timing should be fine.
but they were insistent I get the booster before starting.

I never investigated that. I got the chicken pox when I was 24 so hopefully I won't need the shot.
