I need a good camera under or around $200 that...
Can shoot at night, fireworks, etc. Any recs? We are going to Disney for Halloween and I do not want to bring my Nikon D40. So I would like to purchase one for the trip that will capture nightime and daytime stuff and fireworks.
Any recs? TIA
If I have to spend a little more I will but would rather not

I just got a Kodak Z812 IS and while I've never shot fireworks with it, I've seen pictures online of them and they look nice. A great feature of the camera is that the movie mode quality is GREAT. Love it! Perfect for Disney since I won't have to bring the camcorder also for those short cute moments.
There is a photo gallery at this site and if you search for fireworks, a few come up.

ETA: I bought it at Walmart for $249, but I've seen it for $229 at other stores. Walmart does offer a 100% unconditional money back guarantee for 30 days though so she said if I didn't like it, I could return it even after I used it.

I bought an Olympus FE-340 while on my cruise. It actually has a Fireworks setting on the camera. The pics are GREAT. It is now my in pocketbook camera when I don't bring my NIkon with me. The pics are so clear.
I paid $200 for in on the Cruise ship but I have seen it for cheaper in ads from Best Buy, Target, and Circuit City.

I have a Nikon Coolpix S210. I think it was around $140 in Costco and its awesome. I haven't used it for fireworks, but it does have a fireworks setting. It's so tiny and I got it in plum

I have the newer one S550 (in plum too) and DH got one in black --we both love the camera. DH took pictures 4th of July and they came out good. Also has movie feature which I have never used.

Actually I have to disagree with this. I had the camera and sold it. The movie mode looks good, but if you are in a noisy place the audio distorts like crazy. It was unwatchable.
Try taking video in a bar or a loud event and you can hear what I am talking about.
If you want to go with a camera like this, upgrade to the Z1012 because I heard they fixed the audio problem with the 1012 model.

I have the Olympus FE 280, it has the fireworks setting and tons of others that work great (21 shooting settings). I love this camera Image Attachment(s):

I haven't had an issue with it. I record video at our outings all the time and the audio is fine.
