I need a new camera... Any recommendations?
I'm looking for a basic run of the mill point and shoot digital camera. The one I have is YEARS old.. prob from when they first started making digital cameras for the general public 
Its a Sony CyberShot 7.2 mega pixels, and while it still works and produces very clear pictures, it's SLOW! You have to hold a pose for a good 5+ seconds before the flash goes off.
I have no idea what to look for. I'd like it to be small enough to fit in a small purse, quick shooting and great clarity. I also would like something with great zooming capabilities.
Any recommendations?

I really like the Canon Powershots. I think they are good cameras for the price and are a great point and shoot

My friend just got a Canon Cool Pix...is that a PowerShot? Her pictures are so fuzy. Her zoom option isn't that great either. The point and shoot is def quicker than mine though.

my best investment...i got the sony ericsson phone from at&t and it is a FULL 8.1 mp camera with video and all camera options! no need to carry two things anymore!! i LOVE it.
ETA: the camera "part" of it is a cyber shot.

I meant is Cool Pix a tye of power shot..lol sorry, I really have no idea what i'm talking about.

I highly recommend all the Kodak point and shoots...pics come out crystal clear and they are so easy to use.
I have been told by camera store people to stay away from Sony cameras...they are stereo/tv people, not camera people. Best camera brands are Canon, Nikon and Kodak.
I have had a few Kodaks...nothing ever went wrong with any of them I just always wanted new when new ones came out with more megapixels...I am sorta like a Kodak nazi I swear by them so much!

I am in love with my Canon Powershot elph!!! It takes such clear pics and has so many cool features. Such as i can set the color to green, snap a picture and everything that is green will stay green and all other colors will turn into black and white.
