I need a wireless router.
I trust you people more than I trust the sales associates at the store!
What's good?
Hopefully inexpensive 
I've only used Airport - Apple's thing. It's $100. (or Airport Extreme is $175).
I have a MacBook, he has a p.o.s., er, Dell Inspiron....both laptops.

I had a Netgear router last year and DO NOT recommend that company - it died in under a year, and friends of mine had similar problems.
Now I use a D-Link and it was like $45, and it's great. I use it with my Apple (and Airport) and it was super easy to hook up.

I didn't use any router. I just bought a wireless modem and that's all I use....

I have the one that Verizon gave me with my FIOS but my co-worker always tells people to get the Buffalo from Best Buy

I have a Linksys, and am now using the one I got from Verizon. They both work fine, so I'm not going to bother putting my old one back in yet. I might wire up the 2nd one to give me more range throughout the house, though.
