I need advice on my DS' sleeping habits Please
We have been swaddling, but he has been fighting the swaddle like crazy. He tries to get out of it. Yesterday he slept for maybe a total of 9 hours (thats at night and naps). If I dont swaddle him, at least for naps, he only cat naps because he is so wiggly that he wakes himself up.
Im scared to not swaddle at night because he will definitely not sleep, but when we swaddle he doesnt sleep either because he is grunting and moving like crazy because he seems like he hates it.
What in the world do i do?

Im just using swaddle mes? Do you think I should switch to the miracle blanket? If he hates swaddle mes then how could the MB work? I did use it on DD and it worked wonders but this kid is impossible!!!

What about trying one of those sleep sacks? My DD was always used to being swaddled and now for bedtime we use the sacks.

The thing is that he is so wiggly that he wakes himself up constantly.

Re: I need advice on my DS' sleeping habits Please
My DD HATED to be swaddled and by a week old we just stopped doing it. She actually slept a 1000 times better without the swaddle. She did fidget in her sleep and startle but 99% of the time she slept through it. He's probably fighting it because he doesn't like it. It's a very confining feeling to have your arms tight to your sides and not all babies like it. I would stop swaddling him and see how it goes. You might be surprised how he does. Good luck!

the swaddle me is a big old waste of time and money. the miracle blanket is the best thing out there. There is a HUGE difference between the two.

I agree...DS hated being swaddled from the beginning.

See, I think it's a matter of preference. My Miracle Blanket to us was a total waste of money. DD HATED having her arms swaddled and would not sleep at all when we wrapped her in the MB. With the Swaddle Me's we were able to swaddle her with her arms out and she slept (and still does) sleep like a dream.

Oh def. but the OP has been using the Swaddle Me for quite some time now and I know a ton of people have been recommending the MB instead. If the Swaddle Me doesn't work I would def. move on to the MB. Every baby is different but I was always one to try everything if one thing wasn't working!

However, if he's fighting the swaddle and breaking out of it I would think it's a safe bet to assume he doesn't like being swaddled anymore so using the MB might be a waste of money. I'm not saying don't try it but he could just be done with the need to be swaddled.

I disagree. My son was the same way... always moving his arms/hands around and he literally would wake himself up all the time. Either that or he couldn't fall asleep to begin with. He started breaking out of the receiving blankets i was using. It wasn't because he didn't want to be swaddled anymore. It was because he was getting bigger and the blankets weren't keeping him as tight.
Definitely use the MB. What do you have to lose?
