I need help planning a tailgating party!!
So Im planning a surprise 30th birthday party for my husband. He is a huge Yankee fan so Im taking a group of 25 of his friends and family to a Yankee game. I have a party bus to take everyone in and we will tailgate there for about an hour or so before the game starts. Anyway I need to plan food to bring and if I should grill or not. Has anyone ever used disposable grills? Should I just do heroes and salads ....or is that not good enough for tailgating??? I have never done this before and since its a surprise I can't ask for my DH help. Any suggestions or opinions will be a help!
Thanks Kelly

Re: I need help planning a tailgating party!!
Honestly, I would just do hero's. Yes grilling is the "typical" way to go with tailgating but it is certainly not law. If oyu get disposable grills then you will have to get quite a few of them to feed 25 people which means you will need to have quite a few cookers too....just seems like toooo much work to me.
ETA- I think as long as you have enough chips, games and alcohol...then youare good to go.

Re: I need help planning a tailgating party!!
First off, can I crash your tailgaiting party
J/K
But I wanted to say that I also agree with Deb. While BBQing is a lot of fun, with that large of a group it sounds like a BIG project to undertake. Secondly, I haven't tailgated at the Stadium in quite some time BUT I do know that they have seriously cracked down on using grills and such at the Stadium, and the last thing you need it to have your stuff confiscated and then you'll have a bunch of uncooked food with 25+ hungry guys on your hands!
Sometimes the cops/security do not bother the tailgaters and sort of ignore it when they see the grills out, but I just wouldn't take that chance with such a large group of people
Salads, heros, snack food all sound great to me. Good luck!!
Added: From Yankees.com:
TAILGATING: Guests may tailgate as long as they are confined to the space occupied by their vehicle. Guests may not impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic and/or take up additional parking spaces. Furthermore, tailgating parties that involve alcohol or open fires, including barbecues, are prohibited.
