I need sleep help - 7 1/2 month old LONG sorry
I don't know what to do...DD has been sleeping through the night for the most part give or take a few quick wakings. Lately though she wakes up 4-5 times a night. We try letting her cry for like 20 min. or so, but we usually end up going in and putting the paci back in. Sometimes she falls right back to sleep and sometimes she doesn't. We thought maybe it was her teeth so a few times we gave her tylenol and she usually went right back to sleep, but last night she was up almost every hour.
I don't know if she is having separation issues and we should just let her cry it out I feel like w/o the paci she can't fall back to sleep and she gets way to upset to find it and put it back in.
I am exhausted and frustrated and thought by this point she would be a better sleeper.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

dd has been doing the same thing sporatically for the two months or so....i go in put the paci back in prop her back u on her crib wedge (for acid reflux...she wiggles down it) and walk out some nights it could be every hr on the hr and some nights nothing....we thought it was teething too and the ped said it could be or it could be just for attention....ive been trying to deal telling myself it will get better once she cuts her first tooth but i dont know

hmmm... when she wakes, do you feed her at all?
I find that when ds is teething hardcore, motrin helps more.
As for CIO and the pacifier, she'll find it. My ds is the same way. He gets rather upset the first 10 minutes and then he'll find it. I refuse to go in and give it to him because #1- i know he can get it himself and #2- i don't want to start that habit.
what happens when you go in? do you pick her up? is she fine once you pick her up? If so, it sounds like separation anxiety and she just wants some mommy/daddy time.
We just went through this with ds. I think he was missing mommy. He got too used to be being around him 24/7 when we were in Florida.
We did CIO because with ds... once you go in once or twice... then he takes advantage and it becomes 4 or 5 times a night. He's a quick one i tell ya.

Could be her teeth, but when you pick her up does she stop crying? For me thats generally the sign of habit, just wanting mommy to put me to sleep again.
I will say that the first time we did CIO in the middle of hte night with DS he was 12 months and he cried for an hour and 15 minutes! He had been waking up 2-3x a night at that point, and it stoppd pretty quickly fo rus with CIO. (but DS was not a paci baby so I dont know if it will work the same because of that)
If you think its just habit, and you are comfortable with CIO then on a friday sit with your video monitor and a glass of wine and let her cry.

My DD has 2 teeth already and she appears to be teething but I don't see any sign of a tooth

That is exactly it, she calms down when I pick her up. And I feel like she can never find and put in the paci. SHe can do it for the most part during the day but not at night.
I feel so sad about CIO but feel like we may be moving in that direction if this keeps up
