Re: I need some bottle recommendations.
Those extra parts it what makes these bottles, along with Born Free (which i use) better IMO.
We started with Advent because they have great nipple but couldn't stand the constant leaky bottles.
I would not be lazy with cleaning as your baby will be less gassy and not get leaked on like ours.

I was a huge fan of the Playtex bottles with the Drop in Liners. Almost NO cleaning
Me too! Found them very convenient on the go too!

Re: I need some bottle recommendations.
I LOVE dr browns.
I don't get why people say there are so many "parts" it takes me all of two minutes to clean them...then again, we only rotate 4 of them...but still. it doesn't seem like such a hardship and I really like the way his gas has curbed itself. he burbs much easier now.
we tried born free, avent, and platex ventaire and I liked the Dr. Browns the best. we use the glass bottles. ] ETA: the only reason we didn't do Playtex drop ins is b.c I HATE throwing out all the bags. too much waste.

I swear by Dr. Browns. But I started w/ glass, and found they are not shatterproof--it went ALL over and scared me that it might cut DS. I only use the plastic ones now.

Re: I need some bottle recommendations.
I LOVE our MAM bottles. They have anti-colic ones that worked just as well as the Dr. Brown's ones in my opinion and my DS had severe reflux.
They are so easy to clean. I hated the Dr. Brown's ones too. I used them with my DD.
The other thing I like about these is I always lost the Dr. Browns. Someone else would think they were theres, my SIL and I would get them confused, etc. These are not as widely used so you always know its yours
OH and another plus- they are super cheap- only 12 for 3 bottles and wear really well. I have the same three bottles I started with and they are still in perfect condition. They also never leak.
One last plug- the come apart in two parts so you can really clean the bottom well without a brush- great for travel and take seconds to clean.

joey likes his medela & playtex drop ins
Are the Medela's just for BF babies?
to be honest, I'm not sure haha I used them b/c I did BF DS for 3 weeks, you can still buy them...they're just in the BFing section.
I use these as well. I bought them because they were nice and small (and cheaper). Wasn't till I got home I realized they were BF bottles. Oh well, LOL, we use them and DD loves them! Theyre good for her to practice holding her own bottle as well.
