I need some mommy advice
For the past few days DS has been having what I'm assuming is severe gas pains around 7 every night. I'm not kidding, it's almost 7 on the dot since Thursday. He is NOT a crier and during this time, he screams his head off until he either passes gas or burps.
We called the ped and were told to give him sugar water. It seems to work, too well even. He usually goes right to sleep after we give it to him, but I don't want this to become a habit.
Is there anything else that was recommended to you? I hate seeing him in pain like that and can't do anything for him.

Re: I need some mommy advice
Do the bicycle with his legs
Do clockwise circles on his belly (stay under the ribs). You need to "push" a bit in the skin (keep a flat hand though, no pocking) so you have a slight indentation. Otherwise it's just like rubbing lotion and it does not do much.

Re: I need some mommy advice
How often are you burping during every feeding?
We used to have to burp my son after every ounce in the beginning or he would have horrible gas.

Re: I need some mommy advice
My DS has a lot of gas the first three mos. AND he was a terrible burper.
My ped just kept saying "be more diligent with the burping"
MORE DILIGENT...i wanted to scream. I was POUNDING on my son to get him to burp.
If your DC is a good burper then i would burp more frequently during the day.
If he is a bad burper you can rub the left side of his back in circular motions or bouncy him on your knee when burping. We ended up using gripe water which def helped a lot

I burp him after every two ounces, but we only started that since last week when this whole thing started.
I've tried Mylicon drops and they work sometimes.
I'm going to try the tea to see if it helps.
How do you prepare it?

Re: I need some mommy advice
I got one of those cheapo hand massagers you see in Duane Reade for Christmas and used it on his belly lightly. He loved it. Tummy massage worked too. He pooped a lot of times when I did that
