I realized something today...
...and I wanted to share it with all of you because I had a "whoa" moment this morning.
IF is full of struggles of all sorts--needles, early-morning sonos when we'd much rather be sleeping, non-stop bloodwork, and it goes on and on...
But I realized today that I have something that not many people get to have...
I got to see my first son or daughter as an egg! Had I not been so closely monitored by a specialist, I never would have gotten the opportunity to see that big follie on the screen, and to hear the sono tech say "that's your money right there!!!".
Just something that I was thankful for today. Had I not been an IF patient, I never would have had this amazing experience.
Something to think about when it's everyone's turn...and it will be!!!!!!!! Thinking about all of you and checking in on you often.

So true and touching... Sometimes we need to see the positives in the things we think are negative in life.
I love your point.

Re: I realized something today...
That's a very nice thought and way to look at it. And after my first embryo transfer, I said to DH, how special is it that our first picture is that of our future child/ren as an embryo. After getting my BFP and subsequent miscarriage, it hurt like hell to see that picture of my three embryos the doctor transfered back. Those 3 8-celled embryos were still a life created by my husband and I even though it was done in a lab, it was still part of us. This time around, the doctor showed us the picture, I handed it to DH and when we got home, instead of pinning it up on the board in the kitchen, it went into my IVF folder that I keep with all my other IVF paperwork.
I guess though on the other side of it, had my first IVF not ended in a loss I might share the same sentiment.
ETA: I don't mean to take away from the sentiment of your thoughts. Just sharing how I feel on the other side of the coin.

I have thought about that myself...Its actually kind of neat to have been a knowing participant (if that makes any sense)...Its really fascinating to know just how life gets created and to have been there every step of the way, is I guess one of the one and only "perks" that come with IF...I everyday that everyone on this board gets their BFP

I agree! I think that's awesome! My cousin showed us her twin boys when they were each 8 cells!!! DH and I talk about that- how awesome it'll be to see that- and have those pictures if it works!

Actually, you won't see that. LI-IVF does not give you pics of the embryo's. He feels that it gives people too much hope and when it fails, it's harder to deal with because they saw or have pics of the embies. They will just tell you how many cells the embies are.
