I really can't take my mother (VENT)
So, she comes over this morning at 8:30 in the morning. DH is just about to leave to work and I'm sleeping.
Dh tells her I'm sleeping and to his amazement, she just says okay and walks into our bedroom where she starts barraging me and nagging me about everything.
Mom: Your room is a mess. How do you expect to have a baby when you and DH leave your dirty socks all over the floor.
Me: I know, Mom. We'll get better about being neat once the baby is here.
Mom: Why couldn't the dr. schedule the c-section for Friday instead of Saturday? Saturday's bad for me.
Me: Bc the hospital will only allow you have a c-section at 39 weeks and Sat is when I'm officially 39 weeks.
Mom: But it's one day. What difference does a day make?
Me: I don't know Mom, it's just what the dr said.
Mom: Why hasn't the baby turned? Didn't your doctor give you exercises? Have you been doing them? So and So's baby turned? Why hasn't yours?
Me: I don't know, Mom. Yes, I did the exercises. he just hasn't turned.
Mom: Well, did she say why your legs are so swollen? My legs never swelled like that when I had you or your 2 brothers. Sounds to me like your dr. doesn't know what she's doing.
Me: It's just a part of PG, mom. Some women get more symptoms than others. Can I go back to sleep now?
DH is just sitting there amazed that she just went into our room without asking him if it was okay first, and then second by the barrage of questions!!!

 You are a better woman than I am!! I would've told her to get the fukk outta my room and let me sleep!! [Then again, I don't really care for my mother.] I hope you were able to go back to sleep.

Oh my! You are so much better than I am...and your DH is too...I would've told her off.
I have no patience with that..although my Mom knows that so that's probably why she doesn't do it.

Yikes!!! it is never simple. My MIL is like that with her daughter, but her daughter is not as nice to her as you are to your mom... Maybe that is why my MIL is all over me, because I don't usually say much to her, most of the time I just yes her to death.... Sorry you have to deal with all this stress I don't understand why people don't understand that when you are pg you don't need this stress..... ugh! Looks like you may have to have the same boundaries conversation with your mom that i have to have with my MIL.
